I save 10% of my paycheck, although I'm not really interested in the Xbox line I'm saving for, um, stuff

I save 95% the cash I get and I have no plans on what to spend it on.

But you can never have to much of this...

I second this. People look at me funny when I tell them I have 9 grand in the bank though.

Yeah, the other girl I work with goes on and on about how she has no money, and how she has to borrow money for gas, but in the same breath she says how much fun she had at her shopping spree the week before. I mean, mixed priorities much?

Yeah Too many people are too far in debt.

Then, you get really stingy types like my parents, who seem afraid to spend money even when they can more than support themselves

One of them. Does that mean that one equals two here? Because my dad is (for the most part) only on when I'm either asleep or somewhere that isn't my house.
But I seem to be getting enough computer time tonight...or until 10:30(Central), at least.
(Am I great at delayed responses or what? kidding)

Well, either or both parents

Both of my parents would hog the computer back in the day. Now, they each have a laptop.

Uh, save money on your bills?

I get free heat and water, so I just have to worry about rent, electric, and Internet.

About 70% of my net income is spare money ($1500/month or close), I rarely spend any of it (about 10%) and I've been saving up for years ... it adds up after a while

It'd probably be a whole other story if I lived on my own, had a wife and kids, or a car, or any urge to spend

Yeah, I'm glad I don't drive. No car payments, no fuel, no insurance, no repairs

Buses are cheap, and bike repair is cheap-ish if you go to the right places.

Yeah, I don't see myself getting a car anytime soon. Just don't need it, anything here's within walking distance anyways.

Sadly, mass transit around here sucks They want everyone to buy a Detroit-made automobile instead.

Although I figure that if I can live here with no car, I can live in just about any urbanized area with no car At least from a transportation standpoint, anyway.

We have lots of shuttles around here, which is really convenient. I heard they might be adding a commuter train in this city, which will be interesting.

Of course, on the news they worded it "Train meeting in Orlando" and showed various footage of passenger trains, which happened to be alternating in direction.

Yay for Acmlm again!

Detroit has this elevated rail system which is a joke. It only goes around a very small loop downtown, only in 1 direction.
