Looking forward to this. Will be well worth a rent at least, remains to be seen if it's worth a purchase.

Well, buy for the price of rent! Or convince a friend to buy it so I can play on his system (hey, it worked for Mega Man 9).

Shadic: I thoroughly enjoyed both Adventure games (got all the emblems in the GCN versions of each), but it's a bit easier to not be opposed on things that are more obscure.

I really liked the first Sonic Adventure as well. But the "old" ones (personal favourite being Sonic 3&K somehow) rocked a lot more.

From any games since Sonic 2006 I may think, that those games may really had good ideas, using the environment (if you count grinding grab rails on staircases for that) and still trying to maintain collecting rings and such.
But these felt more like a racing game than Sonic. The only thing which might distract the 2D Sonic fans might be the length of the game. If it only has 6 or 7 zones like in the original, it would feel a little short, despite a smaller price tag than the first (boxed) games.

The score display is funny: NINE digits. Will you ever max this out, as some games are weird where the first zero never changes ?

This looks too good to be true. Now as long as Sega keeps its promise of Sonic being the only playable character... (to be honest, Tails + Knuckles as DLC or unlocks would be fine but that should be the limit)

BTW, if nobody watched the trailer... confirmed for Xbox Live Arcade, PSN and WiiWare.

If they do it Sonic 3/Sonic and Knuckles style, there will be nothing to worry about.

That said, I will reserve my judgment when I have it on my Xbox 360. Then I can compare it directly to my 16-year old cartridge of Sonic 3 and Knuckles and see if it matches up to a game made nearly two decades ago.

Man. Can you believe that? Took them 16 years to realize the games which sold them the most were, guess what, popular.
