ahahah yeah I noticed that the "Always Big" cheat was on in one of the two DS's!
The level works great! We love it and we played it non stop for an hour or so to test it and it works great!

We're probably two of the biggest fans of this game on earth, we especially like the first two levels so with this edit we tried not to change the spirit of the game, which is very simple and immediate. We didn't want to change graphics or fill the level with useless but cool stuff.
I think this level is much more enjoyable than the original and that can host amazing restless battles =)
It's our first edit, and we made it in a night and a day of work, thinking of how to position every single object around the screen. It's a great addition to the other normal levels, if you like to challenge your friends and you like to play hardcore!

We're going to do an edit of the pipe level soon. Because that one is the most boring to play

Oh and this stage works perfectly with DS Download Play. NSMBe 5.2 r116 worked great for us

Is it possible to change the music in Mario Vs Luigi stages? I don't think anybody talked about that in this topic. I'm gonna try and see what I get

Hmmm..
I think it's not possible.
The game only loads/downloads the musics used in MvsL.

Maybe if you really replace them in the sdat file you can get it to work.
For example, replacing the battle music with the grassland one...
I dont know.

I think the problem we're having is not that some carts are ds-download play incompatible.
It's more likely the header stuff i posted some time ago...

I have a DSlite a cycloDS evolution and sometimes (not too often) have access to my 3 friend's ds's 1Phat 2Lite.

I think the problem is not with the firmware or DS type (although I am yet to try a DSI).

Edit: I'm fine with r118, although DS download play won't work. (I'LL CONTINUE TO USE r118 for ever (until download play is fixed) as I am the only one amoung my friends with a modchip, and a pro one at that).

I think the idea of creating your own nds rom loader is the most feasable option for a fix

We made a few new levels, but clearly we still need to get the hang of it.
We changed the sprites configuration and tileset from the Level Configuration windows in the program, and we created some stages a little bit different than usual. But still using only stuff from the game, and we always tried to keep them "clean" and with no more sprites than any other Mario vs Luigi stage.
They work fine during testing in single player, but when we try to play on multi player we get a black screen.

What are the limitations of this stages? Are there some objects or sprites that are known to be not compatible in any way?

I've tried the Cataclysm levels and I was impressed to see how they worked even with custom objects and sprites.

Can you help me out?

I tested the bump from below platforms and they don't work. Water will freeze when you touch it and has graphic problems, so it is white. Spinies are fine though; They shouldn't freeze the game. The enemy in pipe generator might work; when I tested it the enemies would pop(die) before they came out. Donut lift's will freeze when you touch them; I'm pretty sure that Desert enemies don't work.

Try r118 instead...
I committed it yesterday, and it changes the way the NARC patch is done. It puts the tilesets used from the level, instead of the pre-defined ones. That means you can "change" the tileset number (and bg's too) on the level config and the patch will be done correctly...
It doesn't solve any bugs (that i know of) but it might work....


If it doesnt work, do this: Export any custom MvsL levels you made, put them in a clean ROM and click the NARC patch button.

If that doesnt work neither, there's something wrong with the level...

Until there is a custom loader made, r116 will work for Ds download play compatible flashcarts. r118 will not work for Ds download play regardless of the circumstances.
