Note: ANYTIME you place too many sprites near eachother (if they can be seen in 1 ds screen or close enough) the game will slow down. Im not sure if that was totally obvious and all, but incase you didnt know, im putting it out there And also, all these Rs(r90, r102,r16) and all that stuff, are sort of confusing. I used nsmbe editor 5.1, and everything worked) Somebody please tell me EXACTLY which revision of 5.2 is the best to use, and if I can make custom tilesets or backgrounds with it, or maybe change spritesets. Thanks in advance!

Yeah when I added 2 Banzai Bills and 2 Rotating Bills the game went super slow. Btw did you change any nodes or views?

It's doesn't work on my DSTT, DSTTi, or Acekard 2i. When I load up the rom edited with r116 of the editor I get a save error. And when I try to import backgrounds the editor freezes. Is this normal?

Chicken Bones, R4 is the ONLY flashcart i have, and it worked just fine with your hex editing method, so I dont know why your saying its bad.... Cataclysm, i did not change any nodes, but im not sure if I changed the view. Maybe I slightly did? I edited the ice level a few times, and if i didnt like it, i didnt save the level. I just dont remember if I changed the view size in the final level :/ sorry. I am trying to change the view size in SMB 1-1, and (i think i messed up) When I played the level, mario was in 2 different places on 1 screen, and he went through stuff. The koopa was on 1 side of the screen, i died from the other side. If i picked up a koopa shell, it would be floating on the other side of the screen. Im pretty sure the level stayed its original form tho...

I've been able to successfully resize views AS LONG AS they still follow the 256x256 pixels grid.
It is probably related to how NSMB stores the level in RAM: it stores each block individually.

I dont think its the R4 card because i edited the first level with r116 on singleplayer and it wouldnt load! just went black screen or it froze when it tells u how many lives you have. well with two R4's u can do multiplayer with multicard so it should be fine with ds download play. I think there is a problem with the editor(r116).

i also tried to do the narc_(level) thing? can someone tell me how to do it because i didnt know how to when someone mentioned it. You like edit the level on a rom then extract the narc_(level) then insert it to another rom? please tell me because r116 aint working for multiplayer

Dirbaio, you can only make the view size 256 by 256? You cant make it bigger? And also, can somebody please tell me EXACTLY which revision of 5.2 is the best to use, and if I can make custom tilesets or backgrounds with it, or maybe change spritesets?

i think he means that keep it in that pattern so like 512x256 768x256 1024x256 etc. if your changing the size just add 256 to the height or width. Im not sure what 5.2 editor to use r116 is supposed to be best but the levels i hack with it never load. remember that 5.2 is still beta so its gonna be glitchy and have bugs but i really hope they fix multiplayer properly.

Thanks shadeyshaney. If you REALLY want do download to work, the use nsmbe 5.1, and follow Chicken Bones' hex editing method. Its on one of the earlier posts, and it gives you step by step instructions. It really helped me, and some other user. It might help you too! I will continue using that method until I figure out which 5.2 revision imports custom tilesets... and other stuff.

yeah i couldnt really follow it properly. im no good at any of that coding and hex stuff. a few ppl said that 5.2 editing multiplayer works perfectly. could be the flashcard but i think its the editor. they might bring out a newer editor soon i hope.

I just thought of something. If we can edit m vs l levels.... then can we import the Unused levels that were meant to be m vs l? Would it work? Would we have to remove some sprites for it to work?

I think it would if you removed the sprites, changed the sprite sets, and all that other stuff. I imported 1-Tower into castle and worked fine. I also imported world 7-4 into the ice level. I just edited the tilesets, removed the additional views/flag areas, and unusable sprites. Btw I got the lava to function in Mario vs. Luigi! It doesn't animate though...

Hold on a second that's a different game. It is also an older version of FSMB (No extra or deleted sprites). Do you want me to upload the patch for the newer version of FSMB or the levels I have been importing into Multiplayer?

If you watch the video for it, it doesn't have any extra sprites or deleted sprites (I added the sprites later) . No functioning lava either. I just started working on a hack importing levels into Multiplayer.

I don't think so because I included the edited levels in the patch ( I used r90 of the editor to create FSMB) . If you use the firmware.nds it may work
