I changed the music for World 1-1 area 2 in Block 8 and now it doesn't load when I play the level.

Original Block 8:

20 00 10 01 70 03 C0 00 00 00 1A 00 00 00 00

My Edited one:

20 00 10 01 70 03 C0 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 00

I intended to replace the Bonus Room music (1A) with the Starman music (02), but it obviously failed. Any help? Please and thanks.

EDITED: The original test I did was on a flash card. I tested it on NoCash and it loaded the area with the proper backgrounds and my Starman music, but no objects or sprites were there (with the exception of the vine I came in on).

That seems pretty weird.. are you sure the music byte alone is the problem? Does it work fine when you change it back to 1A? Does other music also cause the problem?

Tried the same thing on MMBN5TDS (whew!) Only changing the Title with Bowsers theme from SMB3.
It made the CAPCOM sound , into Protoman saying: Good job. and the music was silent. Using No$gba.

also treeki do you know why when i replace 1-1 or any other level with unused level 1 or smb 1-1 multiplayer level and play it some of the sounds are misssing out like the jumping sound?

@ Treeki - I'll test it out later tonight and reply back with my findings.

EDITED: With both the original music in place, and the underwater music as a separate test, the game does the same thing. Crashes on a flash card, and loads with proper music in No$, but has no objects or sprites. @.@

Never mind about that first post I had. I figured that sound set 07 is sort of incompatible with music 00, but when I used sound set 06 with music 00, the same as in the unused levels, most of the regular sounds returned, with the obvious exclusion of some sounds, like the Star Coin, and Flagpole. Maybe I'll try to look further into this to see if I can figure out why sound set 07 doesn't work well, unless someone else already did, and I didn't see the post the first time.
