Not like there is anything on Cartoon Network anymore. My cousin loves to have it on all day and out of the new shows on there (being like... 4 of them), none I like.

Chowder and that Flapjack show are stupid. The only reasons I could say I like them are for one character each. Chowder has that one guy that is always pissed off (he never smiles, always has the look, never talks coherently yet sounds pissed every second he does say things) and Flapjack has the whale that sounds like it is a stereotypical black woman (no offense to anyone).

Otherwise, Tom & Jerry comes on at 11:30, and that is when I watch it instead of stare at the computer. Once it turns 10:00 when nothing is on, Nick at Night has shows that, while they aren't the greatest shows ever, are a lot more entertaining than ANYTHING on Nick nowadays.

Where have all the good cartoons gone?

Haven't had cable since late 2006.

What does this tell you?

Hiryuu is poor?

Cable? I don't need no steenkin cable! PSPTube++ and a router work just as well, thank you very much.

There's nothing quite like the feeling of catching up on your favorite anime series (currently: Utawarerumono) at night, in bed, lit only by the backlight of your PSP.

Aside from the obvious, I haven't cared to spend the extra 35 a month on top of everything else to get it.

Just wouldn't really do enough for me considering I can get about the same thing out of the internet as it is.

I think BMF actually put some effort into figuring it out and somehow having cable reduced our overall cost.

I still can't figure out why.

We still have cable, but I've practically stopped watching TV now since... around the time Dexter's Lab and Johnny Bravo got their latest (and only terrible) seasons. I have fonder members of lying feverish on a couch watching Playhouse Disney sick from school in high school than watching some of the shows they have on now.

If I watch any TV now, it's Monk/Psych/House and the like. Or Star Trek. :3

Two words: package deal.

We have the most basic of basic cable, which means we get local stations, a few low-numbered bargain bin cable stations, and educational/government programming.

Also, it's digital, but it really doesn't mean anything, since the converter box is a piece of crap. I remember getting better quality out of the analog cable at my brother's house.

My mom got a digital converter. We get TV in clearer now (living in the middle of nowhere + antenna only = hell) but they somehow have the notion that it is HD.

...even if it were it isn't like I can tell the difference...

I just hook up my pc to my tv and watch stuff off the internet instead of waiting for it to appear on tv. (some of it won't ever show up on tv here)

If I could just find a standalone digital HDTV tuner.

All digital tuners I've seen offline are SDTV, and built into another device I'm not interested in like DVD recorders.

All a digital converter's going to do is change the signal from analog to digital. It's not going to boost it from standard def to high def.

Yeah, I know. What I'm thinking of is extremely rare and only available online.

No, it's analog to digital.

I have cable, and it's nice; however, sometimes the cable box screws up and it's impossible to see the result clearly...

Maybe.

I'd like to think that a piece of crap TV would need a convertor of what I described.

The Internet, DVD box sets, and channels that you have to pay even more for, like Boomerang.
It's pretty sad, though. I have some fond memories of old cartoons that I can't even find in those places. (Lucky for me, I have all the episodes my three favorite cartoons.)
I have cable, but I hardly watch anything on it. When it is on, it's usually on the Discovery Channel or the History Channel.

Any way, I'm back. My Internet died Monday, and I had to wait 'till Thursday to get it fixed. It's only a temporary fix, though. It'll be a little while until it really gets fixed, so... Yeah. If I disappear for a little while again, you'll know why.

The good cartoons seem to all be running on Canadian channels lately, though way to early in the morning to watch (4 AM ).

Ah inspector gadget...

It's a misunderstanding. Those converters you're thinking of are meant for SDTV sets with just an analog tuner.

Not HDTV sets that contain no tuner at all, like mine.

I also miss all the good cartoons from a few years ago. All the new ones don't interest me at all, and seem more like filler cartoons than entertaining ones.

I never watch much TV anymore. Nothing on much, so I usually play games most of the time.

"time bomb"? I guess this is one of those weird party balls from SSBB that makes a little jingle when it opens, too, right?
