I just had the best roujiamo (肉夹馍) that I've ever had outside of China, here in Chicago. It was even better than the one I had in NYC!

Went to NERG (North East Retro Gaming) today and whoops I spent £155. Got an original Gameboy, A Link to the Past, Metroid and Mega Man II on the NES!



Unfortunately, after testing Metroid, the 72-pin connector in my NES broke, so I have no idea if Mega Man II works or not. Replacement connector on the way!

Bit late, but I went back to NERG the next day and managed to not spend over £100. I did, however, pick up Super Mario World and Zelda II!



I also went and graduated yesterday, so I'm now officially a BSc!

The only character that I don't prefer the sprited classic version of would definitely be Kirby, Meta Knight, and King Dedede. They look too amazing in high resolution. Oh yeah, and Mario, Luigi, and Peach. I like their HD versions as well.

The stuff that's up on my portfolio has a colour-blind correction filter for Unreal, a prototype game used for an Unreal Blueprint assessment, a game using Unreal C++ that got horribly cut down because they changed the assignment on us right at the end, a cathedral I made in UE3 and then some personal projects.

The problem is that the personal projects are vastly incomplete, so they don't show potential, and the university assessments are at such a horrible standard, because that's all the Uni expected of us. I'm working on more stuff currently. I think I need to focus on one big project that's actually representative of my abilities.

Yeah, that's what I'm going to aim for. I think I'm just going to remake E1M1 of Quake in Unreal, which should give me an opportunity to show off programming, modelling, texturing and level design skills.
