There shouldn't be codeine in OTC cough medicin...unless it is not highly regulated as it is in the US

I failed Chemistry last year, and it's pretty damn mandatory

But, I'm hunting around for other solutions.

Yes, chemistry is important...but grades aren't everything, although good grades make your quest a lot easier. Your profile suggests you are relatively young. In the US, there is always means of redemption to eventually make it into medicine. The average age of a first-year US med student hovers around 25-ish. Not sure how it works in other parts of the world, though.

Oh, btw, if Medicine is what you want, then you should strive for it. But it doesn't always hurt to have a plan E. Plan for both. I'm a programmer and a dentist.

I don't know why I found Chemistry easy. (It was the only science class I didn't have issues with. Maybe it was my teacher)

I learned a lot, and what I realized is a lot of it was math and word theory. It took a while but I got the hang of it.

(now if only I were that adept at Physics... I had to build an amplifier on the final project and I BARELY passed)

I didn't have much trouble with chemistry, as long as I could use a periodic table rather than memorizing everything.

Physics, on the other hand, killed me.

Not much, really. But I was sick once and had some, and it basically caused me to have hideously annoying repetitive dreams that made sleeping awful.

Well, I brought up codeine because I figured that SOMETHING had to be in the stuff to induce that. (Unless you're taking literal shots of the stuff all night long...)

It was a bit old. But I actually took a spoon full less than what was the recommended dose.

Now of course it's gone so I can't say what was in it, but it was definitely around 5-7 years old. Probably expired.

Haha, I'm learning C# in my spare time, and eventually XNA. I want to do indie games in my spare time, but it's always a perfectly viable Plan B if necessary. Plus, I'm looking at doing a foundation year, where they teach me some of the stuff that I missed.

However, it's beginning to look like I'm too smart for foundation, but not smart enough to get into medicine. This is getting pretty messy, and I only have until October to get everything sorted

I wish I was good at things and had a passion for anything >.>

The problem with finding a job or career is that I just don't know what I want to do. I am told it's common place at 19 years old, and I probably won't know what I want for a while.

I don't really have a lot of passion for anything, and the few things I like to do I'm really not that good at. (I'm told I'm good at writing, and could go into book writing, but I kind of hate writing =/) I find it ironic I'm good at things I don't like doing, but I'm terrible at things I like doing even a little.

Another issue is the whole not having great ambitions thing. I don't want to climb the ladder or spend my entire life worrying if I'm going to get a promotion or raise. I just want to relax. haha

Try taking a few night courses, or hunting around for different open days at colleges or universities. Chances are, you'll find something that really interests you and you'll want to go for it.

As for me, I have discovered that if I go to Newcastle University, I can do an undergraduate year in Biological and Biomedical Sciences, wherein they'll teach me the chemistry I need to get into medicine!

Man, I think I'm being stood up or something right now. My friend was supposed to meet me two hours ago and I haven't heard from her at all! This is so totally uncool.

Ugh, physics. Maybe it was just my teacher, but I found physics to be unbelievably dull, tedious, and difficult.

Never took chemistry, oddly. Biology was fun though.

Biology labs would gross me out. I still remember one where we had to extract DNA from a live maggot. Eww eww.

I'm a physics major in college right now... I'm somewhat regretting that decision now, though, since while I do find physics really interesting, I don't really think I want to spend the rest of life doing physics either... (A shame I couldn't have come to that conclusion a few years ago, but oh well)

I've always wanted my current career. I had a momentary confusion as to what it was called, but so far I've just been moving straight towards Software Engineering.

I still want to be an English professor, but fuck all if I know what I'm going to do if I can't get into grad school again.

I might as well just fling myself into the world of pro wrestling maybe. I'm considering learning it...
