So, yea... I'm less than fifty posts away from 1000, and I still have only the basic parts of my new layout so far

I know CSS transparency isn't allowed... but what about alpha-based PNG images?

Even my sidebar has one Just make sure it's not too broken in Internet Explorer 6 without the transparency, if anyone here still uses that ...

Reminds me I should make a new one at 1000 too, and still haven't done anything for it ... but there's no rush at my rate

Yea, all I'm intending to use an alpha background image for is the background of two separate divs: the main post, and a smaller one for my stats (post number, day number, etc.)

I'm also planning on using an image that will stay in the bottom right regardless of post size... (I do all of my layout testing on my local hard drive )
