Oh, I only wish I was kidding. :|

Like I said, though, I have to try...

My school usually doesn't care what people do with the Internet connection, although after a virus went around in 2007, they got really strict with the school-issued laptops. You couldn't change any settings or install any programs for a few months.

Same here. As long as no one's going to illegal sites, the school will let us have free-reign over the internet.

Some kid got arrested at our school one year for accidentally deleting some file he shouldn't have. Our school doesn't joke about internet and computer-related stuff. Or I should say, my old school. I'm a graduate. ^^;

At my school, people will play ROMs in class and the teachers usually don't care Some get pissy though, especially math and humanities teachers. Computer science teachers usually just lecture and most of the class doesn't pay attention

What the fuck file was it to get arrested?

My college's pretty light on filtering... as far as I know torrents and IRC are all they disallow.

My programming friend and I would always have our programming class be our testers for the game we made. Which is of course, Highscore, which isn't getting much feed back here, it seems. But anyway, our teachers approved of him and I doing that on the side, and we even both led a game maker class in the afternoons at our school. It was awesome.

I'll usually find a guy in between classes in the U building playing N64 ROMS. Yesterday I saw him playing Majora's Mask. Granted, he beat Majora the pussy cheating way, but then started a fresh file with no cheats to play. I've also seen him play Super Mario 64 and Pilotwings 64.

I'd play ROM hacks of SMB1 and such. I remember a time when someone watched me play my own hack, TKB Super Mario Bros.

Another time, someone had Super Mario All-Stars and I was like whispering to him where the mushrooms and flowers were The teacher seemed oblivious.

People have been puzzled a bit when they saw me playing a few C64 games on my netbook... or working on a SMB3 hack.

Hell, Linux even threw someone off at one point.

You gave me an idea of how to spend some of my in-between time on campus.

Yeah, when I first went to college I'd read books or walk around like in high school. Later, I'd fool around on the computer

This is me, Captain Obvious, saying that in-between class is fun for a little while, then gets really boring really fast.

How much time do you have in between classes, anyway?

I usually get 2.5 hours, or so. Annoying when nothing's happening.

Though I'm still not at the point where I would have enough free time in between classes, If I have a computer and internet access, I wouldn't become so bored.

If that's not an option, I'll just do the same thing I do during my free time during lunch time, and start drawing a bunch of random pictures.

Yesterday, I had a very short class that started at 10 AM, and I had another class starting at 6PM.

I passed some of the time looking for a job, though.

I usually set my work schedule to fill in inter-class gaps For a while I had a 45-minute gap, which I didn't think was long enough during Jul spree-ish craziness.

My gap used to be only one hour.

Then I had a nasty sociology class. Swapped that real quickly... unfortunately, I can't drive, so leaving isn't an option for me.
