Oh, yeah, I was completely out during the whole surgery. I was very nervous, all the way up until I was knocked out by the injection. I was completely surprised by the fact that I was not impaired at all when I woke up. I was neither tired nor loopy nor dizzy. I was also in almost no pain, though I had wads of gauze jammed in my mouth. In fact, the only pain I felt later was when the doctor decided he would give me another dose of local anesthesia to alleviate my very mild discomfort.

"Oh, you're feeling a tiny bit of pain in your jaw? Here, let me jab a GIANT NEEDLE into your gums FOUR TIMES. Feeling better?"

"No, you just jabbed a GIANT NEEDLE INTO ME oh hey there goes the feeling in my tongue."

I'll be glad when everything is back to normal. I miss solid food.

I got IV and Nitrous Oxide-Oxygen sedation to get my wisdom teeth extracted. I was very loopy afterwards. Local is cheaper, but when it wears off, boy does it suck. I also remembered I didn't keep an ice pack on after the surgery and I was a chipmunk for about 1 week

They gave me Antibiotic mouthwash. Which worked wonders. Only problem was that it turned your teeth brown if you did not brush your teeth after doing it (Plaque causes the antibiotics to dry up and turn it brown due to germ killing)

I had the same thing but mine must have been better since it didn't have the teeth-staining effect. I'm also fairly certain I did not brush my teeth for the first day or two because I couldn't even fit the toothbrush in there. The mouthwash sufficed.

No IV, straight freezing.

Same, I couldn't brush my teeth for a few days. Boy was I happy when I was able to brush them.

I don't remember much from when I got mine removed. Most I remember was that they knocked me out and when I came to I was crying like a baby for some reason.

Don't you just love that?
I had my hand sewed up by an intern. Afterwards the senior doctor says "You know it's a good idea to start injecting the anesthesia while the needle's going in, so it freezes as it goes, and then it doesn't hurt the patient as much."
YOU COULD HAVE TOLD HIM THAT BEFORE.

I'm fine with needles and shots...unless it's an IV.

Yeah, I got IV sedation. I still have the bruise from it. It took me several days to remove the tape they put over the gauze afterward because of my arm hairs.

I will really be glad when I can open my mouth wider and brush my teeth again. My breath reeks, and I can taste it, and there's nothing I can do about it.

Nope, the doc only numbed my mouth. I was not high or anything. I am the envy of all the rednecks in the neighborhood.

Only bad thing about the experience was that my gums were not numb all the way through. And when he stuck that drill in me, you can expect what happened then.

Thankfully he said I did not have to pay for the medication (THANK GOD. Cause I did not have enough money for it anyways).

When I got my fillings, he numbed my mouth, and it was damn numb.

I bit my lip 15 times eating later and didn't feel it until the next day.

I made a video of after the procedure, but I kicked myself in the ass for deleting it from my PS3, and I apologize for it.

I have a couple of pictures on my friend's facebook of the tooth and my swelled up cheeks. Other than that, nothing else.

I remember when the surgeon had the pliers in my mouth, I could hear the crunching noises, and while that was going on, I was in tears (Pain. Duh) almost yelling "Get the fuck out of there you fucking tooth".

But it sounded like "GEEE EUNGGG GDDDDDD HUNG OOO ERE YOOOO KUKN OOH"

If I can avoid dental work, or medical work anymore...I will.

I just don't like the shit...flat out.

While when I had my teeth done I never had an IV, I did need an IV because of a tooth problem.

Apparently a dentist I went to drilled too deep and ended up not only damaging the tooth but cracking my jaw through the tooth. I had an IV after I felt pain on and off on the left side of my mouth for months and it became swollen as hell.

I had to get that tooth removed. Not fun, but no more sore mouth due to that! Good thing I had a wisdom tooth growing in at around that time. Took that spot.

Then there was the time I had an IV because on Christmas Day I wasn't feeling well and it turned out I didn't have enough liquids in me. Ugh I don't know how that happened.

OK... you must be sensitive then. Last week I was frozen at around 10:45 AM and it wore off by 4:30 PM. Not too long.

Ouch... I'm really glad my dentist did it right.

Today was the first time I got to eat bread in a while. Buttered biscuit. Oh, so heavenly. I can't wait until I'm able to return to my normal diet. The followup visit is scheduled for Friday, which is when they'll be taking out the stitches. I'm... rather worried as to how that will go.

Seconded. Glad to here that there's zero complications from it.

Mmm, biscuits. I have two cans sitting in my fridge right now, haven't cooked them since I need to clean the oven out.
