The archives are here:

Hmm, cataloguing didn't take off, eh? Well, here are some links I've found useful...

I dunno about the indexing old forums, but I at least propose that these archives could be stickied.

Agreed. I'd imagine that a bunch of people don't know about these old archives, and the information in them could be pretty valuable.

EDIT: Cleaned up the original post to look a bit more presentable

As for the archives, the second and the third won't work. They might have been deleted, but here is some useful threads from the first incarnation:

A Lunar Magic Beginners' FAQ
SMW: Good advice for newbies and oldbies alike
Useful SMW memory locations (might not be as useful nowadays, but worth checking)

Offtopic:
Story Forum (if you are bored, or have nothing to read, look here)

EDIT: Nevermind, the archives are still accesible, but need a little searching.

Hmm... when I click the links, they lead to Board 2, but copy-pasting the URL into the address bar seems to work correctly.

Well, if anyone cares, there's this thread with lots and lots of FF3j data in it, although the link to Dan's thing died with panicus, and I don't have it anymore. Also, you get to watch me act stupid.

I'm curious, would anyone care if I made a "hack list" thread like I did over at board2 (and/or does anyone want one)?

Edit: I wasn't really sure where to post this so I put it in here because it's partially related to the topic at hand...

Go for it.
Some useful topic links would be great too, but meh.

I see someone decided to redirect the 2nd and 3rd incarnations to the current board2. I wonder if there are any backups?

I'm mostly concerned about the stuff in the hacking forums, especially SMW discoveries that might not have been archived.

[edit]
I see Pandaren already brought this up a while ago. Go me!

One could change the links to redirect through, say, Tinyurl, other sites, etc. to overcome the referrer problem.

If there was a way to destroy the referrer stuff prior to following the links, though... all the better :p

Ideally, though, one should catalogue the important information and then leave them alone as a mere curiosity. As time goes on they become harder and harder to navigate and/or access, and we don't want to become dependent on something which could vanish at random. >.>

Only incarnation 2 redirects now.

Looks like the redirects are dying, finally.

I think I2's redirect died recently. Now it is open to the public once again, and it won't annoyingly move you elsewhere.

Don't mean to bump an old thread but I'm curious about a few things. How come there isn't a backup of the old boards on this site or for that matter anywhere else EXCEPT the Board 2? If there is one, please link it because as MetalMan listed above its not smart to become dependent on something that can disappear at random.

I don't know a lot about Html & saving backups but is there anyway I could backup the entire site myself and save it on to my computer? (I can imagine this taking lots of space but there are definitely some important things on all 3 board backups and if you don't want to explain it on here feel free to PM me) I remember one of the users whose probably inactive on this board by now telling me he had saved lots of important things from either the 2nd or 3rd Board Incarnation related to SM64 hacking but the chances of getting a response from him at this point are pretty slim.

If all goes well and
A) There is another set of backups then they will be posted here hopefully.
or
B) I make a backup myself in which case I will post it here anyway.

Sorry for bumping, but it looks like both 2nd Incarnation and 3rd Incarnation aren't working anymore. Are there no downloadable archives or someone else hosts these?

The no-ip.org domain doesn't appear to work anymore.

If you update the links to use the kafuka domain they work:

Sorry for bumping this, but it looks like I1 is down. Is it still up somewhere or is it really completely gone now? Would be sad actually, cause there was some really interesting information in there.

Thanks in advance,
Cajetan.

It's (presumably) still kicking around on Acmlm's computer, since that's what acmlm.cjb.net was running on. The domain's been down for some time now, though.

Dunno what the odds of it getting rehosted somewhere else in the meantime are...

An archive of Acmlm's old site exists here:

http://overclocked.acmlm.org/

The board (as well as several other things) aren't archived here, though.

Sorry if this is a bump, but seeing how this is a stickied thread it probably doesn't matter too much

As for the first archive not working, I recommend someone to download it the next time it goes up and rehost it somewhere less likely to go down so much. Would thar be possible? If anyone here has easy contact with acmlm then it shouldn't be too hard, but I don't know if anyone does.

Also, are there any archives of back when it had boards using EZBoards/WWWThreads?
