Coming this August.

  • 3 Games in one disk
  • Corruption Controls
  • $50
  • August 24th release date

I will buy. No doubt. Don't care that I own them all otherwise.

I'm going to pick this up for sure. I've always wanted to play the Metroid Prime series although I've never gotten around to it (there are a lot of games that I haven't gotten around to playing ). All three games for the price of one regular Wii game is an amazing deal .

Neat, I hope this'll start a trend to bring back older games with todays graphics on all 3 systems. I'll have to invest in a Wii now...

Like I said in the Wii thread, it makes perfect sense and I'm happy that Nintendo's doing a package deal instead of charging for the New Play Control versions separately.

Probably going to be a dual-layer disc, I'm guessing... since MP3's already on there.

See, if threads like this are going to be made after their parent console thread is getting the intel first...I would think we just need to get rid of the stuck threads.

I must buy this at some point... Or I could download since I already own all the games...

I won't buy it because I already have all three, but I suppose I may uh, check out the NPC versions of MP1 and 2. (While assuming they butcher any possible attempt at sequence breaking.)

Yeah, they probably have fixed most of the bugs and glitches.. unfortunately.

I'll probably check it out just for the heck of it someday, even though I own all three of the originals.

Eh, I won't bother. If bugs are rectified, that eliminates sequence breaking, one of the things that gave the first prime tons more replay value.

Dissidia FF comes out the day after, anyway, so I'd end up neglecting it if I bought it.

I have a feeling that Nintendo recognizes people like sequence breaking in Metroid games. Odds are if there's any minor level changes, it's likely due to the control scheme.

Sequence breaking is still possible in the Japanese Wii Prime, though a bit harder obviously:

And Retro, unfortunately, doesn't care. They deliberately tried to prevent sequence breaking in the games, and they did a pretty damn good job doing so in 2 and 3. It's ridiculously hard to pull-off some of the breaking in those; I couldn't be arsed to keep trying.

    Oh yes.

I've played both 1 and 2 through and I still own 2... Will surely get this one. The first prime was better than the second in my opinion, haven't played the third one yet

I never beat the first or second ones (Honestly, I never got far in the first one; I rented it), but I am buying this when it comes out like a shot if it comes out here.

Interesting video, though. Kind of makes me want to play that now.

Edit: then again when I want to sequence break I just might as well play the originals, huh?

That's how I see it. If I want to do all my fancy sequence-breaking and speedrunning I'll play GC Prime. I want this because I want to try playing the games with Corruption controls and stuff.

The Corruption controls are definately not supposed to be used for MP1 and 2, but they work well.
I had to use the lock on with MP1, but didn't for MP3.

I'm still so incredibly pleased that I have a Prime 1.0 NTSC version with all the really hilariously easy sequence breaks, despite being an Australian.
