My editor doesn't render slopes completely correctly (I had to figure out the format by myself, and don't know everything about it) so you may see them appearing wrong. (2-3 is one of the best/worst examples of this - so many objects in it are slopes or diagonals that it looks completely different from the actual game.)
Moving the object up a tile is a pretty obvious solution though.. I'm surprised you didn't think of that.
