hey so has anybody started up the beta in a while?

like what is normally in your backpack


I'm just wondering because my beta backpack now has
two craftable versions of every original class update weapons

also a tradeable team spirit paint and some of the tools

I have the beta, but I only logged a pitiful 81 minutes of total play time since all the servers were dead. I'm not sure if I picked a bad time, or if that's how all the TF2 beta servers are.

Say, does anyone here have the Source SDK and at least basic experience in using it? I want to start making my own TF2 map using C4D, but I can't run the Source SDK and I can't really make a map effectively if I don't have measurements for things like character size, max jump height, etc. Anyone willing to help? Or know of a resource I can go to with all of this information? I would be very grateful!

Just customized my loadout for the Scout. I'll be using him tomorrow night using The Force-A-Nature, a Bonk! Atomic Punch, and The Sandman. Better than nothing when I had about $10 left and I used $5.10 for an Indie game after.

My Scout uses a Force-a-Nature, Winger, and Boston Basher - although I'm thinking of swapping the Basher for the Sandman. Any time I'm close enough to use the Basher, I'm close enough for the shotgun - and I probably don't want to be that close for very long, given the fragile nature of the Scout. The Sandman would at least offer some utility.

Plus I have trouble timing my melee attacks sometimes.

I run four different Spy loadouts, each with some pairing of the normal watch or the Dead Ringer and the knife or Your Eternal Reward.

Other classes I tend to keep pretty close to stock, mostly because I only have one or two other weapons for them - Backburner for my pyro, Sydney Sleeper for my sniper, Jag for my engineer.

On the Pyro note, anyone got a Homewrecker? Was thinking of grabbing one for a defense setup - flamethrower for spychecking, Homewrecker to take sappers off of sentries.

If you need a Homewrecker, go to the Mann Co. Store and get a trial one until you find a legit one. Very simple way of doing that.

Great! Gives me some easy targets to brush up on my Spy work.

I'm still carrying the Enforcer, but it's extremely rare for me to actually use it. Now that the cloak delay has been removed, it may actually be better for my purposes, since half the time I'm not using the Ringer.
