Yeah, but at the same time, as it was you could activate, get hit, deactivate, wait the two seconds for it to fully recharge, then activate it again, basically giving you nigh-infinite lives.

^That scout is a moron.

As it is they could just have had it drain 1/4 or 1/2 of the bar, at least you'd get to use it more than once a life. As it is it's garbage. Good thing I like the Cloak and Dagger. Also, going to get all the ambassador achievements before they nerf it again.

Yes.

While I think the "fix" was a bit much (just drain it to 1/2 full cloak if it's over, or add a timed cooldown after using it before it can be reactivated", that pretty much gets my point across fine.

And the Scout being a moron in that video doesn't make it any less obvious the thing was just a tiny bit abusable.

At least this way it won't take a whole team to take down the spy... These past few days have been,"SPY!" *whole team flails about with bullets flying* "AHHHHH! HE'S NOT HE--" *Stabbed*

Daily Tip

If your engineers are reporting spies, SPY CHECK.

In fact, do it if you value the teleporter they just built for you.

Update on Valve's end.
Anyone notice anything different?

I'm a bit late, but

Spies disguised as medics now have an Ubercharge: line in their disguise target info
On most occasions (from what I've seen), they usually have nonsensically high ones, like around %1456809.

I got an Ambassador today, went into my items, and... found I had got an Ambassador before somewhere. How odd.

On the other hand, the unlock weapons don't really seem to be worth crying about; they're less "better weapons that you get" and more "alternate weapons you receive" in terms of... everything.

I haven't seen that before. Also, C&D might get me to play recon spy more often. Being perma-invsibile is pretty fucking cool.

That's the whole point. They're alternate weapons that serve another purpose.

The Kritzkrieg is better for mowing down hordes of enemies. The Ubercharger is best for sentry nests or really hardcore turtling.

Natascha is better on defense against things like Scouts or Engineers. The normal gun is best against many other classes.

Hell, if you're like me, all of the unlockables for the Pyro class are actually a downgrade; you lose a melee weapon (if you run out of flamer ammo), you lose medium-range and vs. Pyro power if you use the Flare Gun, and you lose the ability to extinguish teammates/reflect and move projectiles/stickies if you use the Backburner.

Even worse if you use the Flare Gun and Axtinguisher together. Better fucking hope you never have to fight underwater, or you're screwed.

(Though, granted, compared to the Team Fortress Classic maps, Team Fortress 2's have only puddles)

I'm shocked at how well I play as a sniper. Equipped with a Huntsman and Jarate, though. What works best for me is to "just go for it". When I tried out the sniper before, I spent so much time trying to line up a shot with the sniper rifle. With the huntsman, I don't.

And throwing Jarate is so much fun =x

Also, two memorable moments from recent playing. One of them involved me killing a Demo with the Huntsman taunt. I didn't get him from the initial stun, but I killed him during the arrow removal. I knew he was coming to get me, so I hid around a corner. That didn't impress my target, though.

The other moment, though, did impress my target. I can't remember how I knew, but I knew that a bunch of people, including spies were coming up (I can't remember the level anymore ). Instead of doing what I usually do, throwing jarate at a crowd, I decided to try my luck at hitting someone with an arrow. Considering that it was a crowd that was going to be coming up, I knew I was going to hit someone. However, that group wasn't coming out yet. And then I thought "Wait.. what if someone's cloaked..". I shot out an arrow, and got a headshot off of a cloaked spy.

Well, I got the two Sniper items I was missing consecutively and within an hour of each other, so... Yeah.
On that note, the Huntsman is quite difficult to use right off the bat, but I suspect I will grow to love it. After all, I haven't even really touched the Sniper class until I learned about the Huntsman due to my detest of the general gameplay style of the Sniper.

By the way, Xkeeper, I somewhat disagree with your notion that the Pyro upgrades are essentially downgrades. Of course, you did say "If you're like me", but I feel the need to point out the positives.
First of all, I agree with you to a point about the Backburner; the Flamethrower is far more useful if you can use the compression blast properly, but if you aren't that good at it for whatever reason (being new, for example), the Backburner can be more useful. Second of all, the Flare Gun can be quite devastating if you've mastered it; an experienced Pyro can use it effectively at both long and medium range, and, generally speaking, Pyro vs. Pyro battles don't usually involve two Pyros burning or shooting at each other with no other tactics or outside influences. Last of all, the Axtinguisher is almost entirely more useful than the Fire Axe, unless you happen to be in a melee-only match; the Axtinguisher can take out classes such as Heavies with ease, and, teamed up with another Pyro, it can annihilate entire groups in seconds. Underwater fights are typically uncommon, and ammo is often easy to find, so I see no real reason to keep the Fire Axe over the Axtinguisher.
With that said, I, personally, use only the Axtinguisher out of the new weapons; I'm not that great with the Flare Gun, and I find the compression blast far more useful than critical hits in a situation where I would often kill my opponent regardless of whether or not I was achieving them.

I agree a lot about the above. I use the Backburner and Flare gun, but I haven't really used the Axetinguisher yet. The only person I killed properly with it was Sneaky Snake. I just need to wait for more HEAVIES to log in...

As far as the Flare gun, I can't see myself going back to the shotgun. I have pretty well mastered the Flaregun. Setting Unsuspecting enemies on fire from a distance and watching them freak out is so much fun(Snipers especially). Also easy to ignite heavies with it.

I only use the Axtinguisher, but my mouse is acting screwy, so I can't fast switch to it like I used to.
It goes ignite, airblast up, quickswitch, and then Axtinguish.

I use fast switch but with the numbers at the top of the keyboard, and some use of Q (def. last weapon), too.

I've been meaning to try that, but it takes a while to get used to.
Q doesn't work so well, because I like to finish people off with the shotgun sometimes too.

Achievement milestones are back. Well, they were always there, but now they're there for Sniper and Spy.

While people would still be miffed that you can randomly get stuff, at least it should calm SOME people down

It's half-half really... I think I'll take it, but I'd much rather have the milestones as the only way...
