Maybe you weren't paying attention, but that's generally what happens when you camp the area inside your spawn zone as a sniper, especially on snipe-happy maps.

Honestly, even as a Demo who could fly across half the map, I only actually made it over there once or twice, and even then the rest of his team was usually barreling out of his spawn ready to murder me.

That map sucks.

(fyi, the "team only" areas start about halfway up that ramp leading up to the spawn room proper)


Also our team had failsnipers.

Actually I was somewhat out of my spawn and a spy managed to get above me twice in an attempt to backstab.

I also got sniped a few times by those snipers....

Actually, still no. When I'm not playing Sniper, I play the annoying role of a Scout on the enemy side. I usually take out those spawn snipers with so much ease. I dominated one of teh spawn campers at one point the time I played the map before this one.

Yes, but you guys had sentries that would own anybody that got too close. Hell, I got killed a few times by those damn things.

So they hit the Dead Ringer with the Nerf ICBM (not hammer, ICBM) and made the Ambassador worth actually using with the patch today.

Man. That's a painful nerf for the Dead Ringer. But I guess it helps push for a more team oriented use instead of using it for solo missions.

Yeah, but at the same time, as it was you could activate, get hit, deactivate, wait the two seconds for it to fully recharge, then activate it again, basically giving you nigh-infinite lives.

It's not a huge amount of lives. You gotta have some good timing. And you don't achieve much of anything after forced repeated uses, unless it's something like a Payload map. Then it's a heap of lives that keeps pushing the cart with hardly a stop ;

I can definitely see that it was broken, but it's still kinda painful for me to have it nerfed. Now that the Dead Ringer's been out for a while, there're less people that're fooled by it. I don't even have to hear the loud crackling sound to know that someone's using a Dead Ringer (as long as I see when the guy was "killed"). It now buys you as much time as cloaking in front of an enemy is, with no faster recharge from ammo or standing still.

Not saying that it sucks, though. It's just removed a playstyle. There're plenty more.
