We just got done with christmas celebrations at my house, and two of my presents were an Xbox 360, and socks.

I was a little buried under socks and underwear at the end of it, actually. XD Half of my presents were socks and underwear.

Anyways, I got the Xbox Live package, including headset and strange giant ethernet cable, and all the other Xbox goodies. I set up the drums, and they're never coming apart again. Except maybe the heads coming off, but that's supposed to happen, when I pull them off. I also have the power plugged in, but that's it. However, the Xbox won't light up when I hit the power button.

I'm guessing it's coded to wait for me to plug in at least the essentials of play. (AV cables, and the like) However, there's six, count 'em, six AV cables. I get three, red yellow and white, but what about the full red, full other colour I already forgot, but I think is white, and green?

I have yet to figure out everything, and I just stopped to eat a bit and post here. Any help would be appreciated. =D

Oh, I got a toy Wiimote as well. If I go to school and make friends after I move, they'll probably get a bop from it some time.

Yellow + red + white = composite (yellow for video, red/white for sound)
Red + green + blue + red + white = component (red1/green/blue for video, red2/white for sound)

Component gives better image quality and allows higher resolutions (up to 1080p instead of 480i), if your TV supports it of course

I figured out the AV cables. Thanks, Acmlm. =D

Turns out they were separately wired, the two sets of three. I just stuck the full red, full white, and yellow ones on their proper places in the VCR, and started playing. I'm about eight songs into Expert Vocals, and five into Hard Guitar.

I guess I should change the thread name to "Rock Band". Though, that would go on better in the Stepmania/Rhythm games forum... Ah well, the thread's already here.

Rock Band > Guitar Hero.

Congrats on getting the better game. Any plans to play online?
