Paper Mario rooms are actually quite bigger than you might think. If you set Mario to around 16 pixels in width, a standard "round" room comes out to almost 1300 pixels wide. Toad Town is made of six of those. Dry Dry Desert is made of 50.


It's very easy for the size to add up, especially with labels and backgrounds thrown in.

I'm actually more amazed small maps are pretty large in size in comparison to Mario 64.
