For me the midnight backups happen at 9am, so it's sort of like a cute morning thing if I hit one.

I know that 3:2 is much taller than 16:9, but as someone who doesn't use 16:9 or 8:5, it honestly feels a lot closer than it actually is. Content is 16:9, screen is 3:2.

Oh those Macs (right). I've seen a few waltz through here. Still in use to this day by some but they're becoming more of a rarity as time goes on. Interesting design choices underneath housing all the innards. For better or worse.

They're gonna get even rarer as people buy up working ones to replace the insides with M1 Mac minis. Same with the G4 Cubes. People chopping up cases and throwing the original parts away is probably the biggest sin I can think of.

I have three different Power Macs with the "oven door" arrangement, all G4s from 2000-01 though it was introduced midway through the G3's lifespan in 1999, and I am in no way excited to head into the world of thumb screws holding case side panels in. Being able to pull a tab is just so convenient that I honestly think that if someone made a case with that option, that people including myself would buy it. Especially if it also came with corner handles...

The person who said that wired headphones are a "retro fashion accessory" has been living rent free in my head for the last few months. Especially as I hear more and more about the issues with wireless headphones that still aren't fixed even on the Airpods Max'ses. Not everything newer immediately obsolesces what came before it, especially not when said thing adds a battery to the device.

as someone who uses wired headphones for making and recording music this is incredibly silly. even if i wanted airpods or something, i couldn't afford them

I just ended up being on during today's backup. Nice.

Also. I use wired for everything because of the instant improvement in audio quality for less money, but I might consider wireless earbuds for sleeping with sound so as to not bother anyone who has to be around me at night. Sleeping with sound has really chewed up my earbud cord.

Ow, my wrist hurts from typing. And not even on a good keyboard, the keyboard is the worst thing about the Hi-Res Powerbook G4.
