It turned out the previous install of Adobe Audition left over 5GB of wav files... after running the uninstaller.

This is a 250GB HD. Why do uninstallers have to suck badly

they don't want you to uninstall their shit, obviously

unrelatedly, who the hell decided that the http:// prefix in URLs had to be hidden? that's the most moronic decision ever

(apparently someone from Chrome, and of course Firefox copied it)

I have a doctor's appointment the week after next and while I'm slightly worried I might have to have a blood draw I'm told the staff is really nice so that kind of makes me feel a little better

what if Thomas the Tank Engine added an obligatory handicapped train because diversity

but the handicap was that it had human feet instead of wheels

At least I guess you could change that in about:config, or at least an extension

haven't checked, but I assume that's the case knowing what stuff can be changed from that

I hope so

for a while there was an about:config switch for making Firefox's main UI use the same theme as the dev tools (inspect element and all that), it looked nice enough and gave you a proper dark theme

then eventually, surprise, they broke it

(browser.devedition.theme.enabled)

Huh.

I use Firefox 38 ESR and it does seem to work, except the theme is light.

EDIT: There was a preference to set it to black. It works. (image here)

The Wayback Machine is a good answer to "How do I get old FakeAVs?"

Yes, I got almost everything in this folder from that. It's like googling something except more tricky.

The worst thing is the way robots.txt is handled

if it's set to block a certain directory, everything saved before the robots.txt started blocking becomes inaccessible (see: old slashdot)

this is bad especially when the robots.txt thing is done after the domain expires, blocking everything previously saved. good design

ideally it should just archive shit regardless of robots.txt, but I guess some people wouldn't be happy with that

I'm moving my portfolio off of Weebly to Squarespace because Weebly isn't very good for exposure apparently

Also fuck robots.txt

reminds me that I either have to repair my iPhone/music player (given it's a 3GS that's pretty much all it's good for), get a replacement, or just wrap the top part in tape extra tight and hope that fixes everything.
