I'm on this TV series-watching kick right now that started after I picked up HBO's Bored to Death starring Jason Schwartzman. Then I started watching How I Met Your Mother and 30 Rock and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I used to think television was an inferior medium to film, but I now think it's also a very special and unique thing, too.

Right now I'm watching Wonderfalls, a quirky dramedy-fantasy cult classic series about a Niagara Falls gift shop sales clerk who bears striking resemblance to Ellen Page's Juno (even in appearance) sans pregnancy. It kinda makes me feel like Jason Reitman made a show about some schizophrenic gen-Yer or something, but the show is actually produced by Bryan Fuller, the guy you may be more familiar with as the creator of the obviously Jean-Pierre Jeunet-inspired—think Amélie—detective fantasy series Pushing Daisies, which I'm also going through soon, too. I think I can finally unironically echo the words of Peter Sellers's unintentionally profound character Chauncey Gardiner in Hal Ashby's late-70s classic Being There: "I like to watch."
