Wow...Previews

This will make the editing a LOT easier, since you can actually tell what things are at a glance.

FYI: Sorry if this sounds sarcastic, it's not supposed to...

Awesome.

I'd ask for a graphics/pallete editor, but that could probably wait until level editing supports adding and removing objects.

That's coming in 3.0, along with adding/removing objects. You'll be able to edit background tilemaps too, and the object mappings, which means that you'll be able to design your own objects that look completely different, not just change the tiles used.

Development on 3.0 is currently paused until I sort out all my Vundo troubles and get to install VB6, though.

Sorry for being impatient but... any idea when that will be? I've been checking this thread for over a month now hoping to see some updates on version 3.0. Do you have any idea when it may be finished. Don't worry, if you don't finish by then, I won't go like "OMG! HE MISSED HIS DATE! HOW COULD HE! THIS IS AWFUL! I HATE YOU!".

I haven't worked on it in a while, really. :/ Not being able to figure out how to render some objects correctly (especially slopes) put me off that.. Right now, the current version can show all of 1-1 (except the end-of-level castle, flagpole and pipe objects) perfectly. It also works on most other levels (except for problems with some diagonally-shaped objects such as slopes in other tilesets).

I would say, let you time with that. It is better to work longer on it and getting a better tool instead of fast and crappy. Isn't it?

Install the VB6 runtime files. Google to find them (which you should have done anyway when you are told you are missing a file)

Quit while you are ahead, Nintendo just released a patch to all known NSMB ROMs and if you downloaded it withen the last three months then you can't use it with this editor.

look up the .ocx in google. The look up how to register .ocx files, and you're set.

Did you also place it in the same file as the utility? I have no clue if it will help, but it might...

I just downloaded this and it's REALLY COOL!!! I love it!

Is V3.0 still in the works? With the new features you mentioned, this thing could easily become another Lunar Magic. It's that good.

"A" rom? I hope you mean a NSMB rom, not just any old rom.

Overflow? Perhaps your ROM is not good. Try downloading it again from another site possibly.
