Multiplayer, from what I seen, is limited to a few objects and that's it. By objects, I mean things like flag poles and Bowser will not be in game due to the fact they are not packaged within the .narc files. I was working on finding a workaround, but I never got too far with it. m64m Does bring up an interesting point though... A single star at the end of the level might do it, but that would probably require ASM to pull that off.

Yeah

Are the narc files for download play and two card play?

Is The underground level is just koopas and underground tileset and platforms

and the castle, castle tileset ,boboms and moving stone blocks

so can i put koopas in the castle level and boboms in underground vice versa and put all those things in other levels

Yes, that would be the same roadblock I had Hiccup. After realizing single card play was out of the question, I moved onto multicard. If I remember correctly, it doesn't work... I believe even in multicard, the game pulls the data from the narc files and not the main game so the flag pole cannot be accessed. If we are to get the flag to work, we would need to use ASM. I am not skilled with it at all so don't look at me... :/

Nope; they use separate tile sets. You should look around and see if any useful sprites can be used. For the multiplayer 1-1, I noticed the Star Coin sprite was compatible (dunno how that'd work).

Can i use all the tiles from the tile set of the multiplayer level (e.g. if i was editing the grassland level would i be able to use all the tiles from that grassland tileset and not just the ones that are all ready in the level) ?


and can i use all the tiles from tileset 0 (blocks and pipes) and not just the ones that are allready used in orginal multiplayer level ?

I was recently watching a hacked level on YouTube, and the guy had one of those ground pound wooden logs in the level, and 5 coins came out after ground pounding three times. Are those logs sprites or objects?

The Logs are sprites. The sprite is 42 (chain chomp) if you want the log to have a chain chomp on it you put the sprite data "00 00 01 00 00 00" if you want it just to be the log you leave the sprite data at 0 (00 00 00 00 00 00) its not used in the game but it works fine.

The bottom of the log apears one block above where you place it in the editor.

Its a bit stupid that im doing this multiplayer because i dont have two ds's yet or two acekards

in nocash is there some way to do multiplayer if not i cant try it like you surgested

If there was a way to emulate multiplayer I'd have tried it by now. Right now there isn't a way..

I'm sorta having a problem with Pipe destinations:

The main room's pipe (2nd pipe):



The second area's (not the Bowser one) pipe:



Whenever I entered the pipe in the second room, it just takes me back to the beginning of the course.

Could somebody help me with this?

Check to make sure you don't already have an entrance numbered 2 in the main room.

(Also, in the first screenshot, why do you have it set to go to itself?)

Some day I want to add a feature that lets you create a full patch that can be applied with the editor (it would contain other modified files like graphics as well, not just levels) easily.

not too long. Before I was editing NSMB on a sporadic schedule, but now I'm committing 1 hour each day purely to editing. I want to get the game done before the end of summer =D
