I am making a list of all the textures in the game so we all know where each texture is (if you don't get it, see my psot in Toads tool suggestions). If you want to help me name the textures just post your finds here. Soon we will have a master list of all the textures for VL-Tone to put in Toads tool 64.

And the second one that looks like that is the metal mario cap. The ones near it are all for the cap. (when it's not on his head)

Good topic, one thing though:

Make sure to do the work starting with the first post, otherwise it's liable to be deleted by me for looking to be contentless.

Looking Excellent. Too bad TT64 doesn't have a 'rename' function that saves a list of the names, and when you roll your mouse over the texture, the name pops up.

Keep up the good work!

There's some peach textures that you can edit in TT64, btw. And as a correction, it's Bowser, not Booster. Don't worry, I'm not being picky.

59. Custom Eyes?
- Those are Hoot's eyes

60. Custom Mustach?
- Hoot's body i think, Seeing how its with two other Hoot the Owl textures, I would guess its his body

61. Custom Mustach?
-Hoot's wings

16-17. ?
- Metal Wing Cap
- Semi unused, If you wear a metal and wing cap they appear.
- But from my knowledge those two caps never appear in the same level..

Hi, here is my modest contribution:

382. Goomba's Body

It is partially hideen by the Goomba's head. Also, texture 384 isn't a dead Goomba, but rather a blinking Goomba. During the game, the face texture is quickly switched to produce the blinking effect. So:

384. Goomba Face Texture (Blinking)

The Goomba's feets aren't a texture, but polygon colors. The offsets for its colors are A9ACEC and A9ACF4.

Hi! New guy here...
This is the very reason I joined this site: to give something back. I've finished up sorting the textures by level. I've done a pretty good job of it, too: there's only 46 textures that I cant identify.
Each major Area (Ex; Lethal Lava Land-Outside, Lethal Lava Land-Inside Volcano) has its own folder of the textures found in that area. The same goes with Effects, Enemies, NPCs, and whatever else there is.
I tried to be as accurate as possible, but I've probably messed up on a few locations. Also, I didnt name each and every object the texture goes to. You'll have to guess on some of them as to where they go.
Also, many textures are used in the same levels. Don't say I didn't warn ya.
Honestly, this wasnt that hard. Thankfully, I have a job where you sometimes sit on your arse for 24 hours with a computer in front of you. The rest is just will power.

(Link has just now been tried. It works!)

Note: Moved this thread from another topic. Sorry for any trouble I've caused for that topic. Is there any way to delete it?

Yes, I was waiting until you saw it first, now it is trashed. Thank you for moving the content appropriately. -Metal Man

Im new but I've been looking at some textures that were not in TT64 and i discovered that certain items are of course colored polygons, like the top of koopas shoes and some things in the game reflect other textures so they basically share it.The texture in Big Boo's Haunt in TT64 at texture number 483 is the one on the interior walls of the mansion but if you alter the texture you notice that the one on the roof of the mansion has changed too but it has a reddish tint.

Models can have color information that's independent of the texture. For example, Yoshi's green color is defined by a 4 bytes value (RGBA). Aside from his eyes, Yoshi doesn't use any other textures, so the rest is simply colorized polygons.

But models can also use both a texture and a color on the same polygon, essentially colorizing the texture. It's used in the example you mentioned, for the roof of the mansion. Other examples: in the Wing cap level, the roofs of all 4 towers all use the same texture, but colorized to get the red/blue/green/yellow color.

This kind of texture colorization effect is also used under bridges to create shadows. Current version of TT64 (0.5.x) doesn't render all of these effects correctly, but it will be much better in 0.6b as I fixed some of the issues.

Now, TT64 doesn't enable you to modify these color values (the exception being Mario's colors), but someday it should.

If you want to do some manual editing of the colors, you can look for in polygon scripts is command 0x03, which is a pointer to color values used by models. The 4 bytes color values are not in the 0x03 command itself, but rather at the offset indicated by the command.
