So... I've started Higurashi no Naku Koro ni.

Watched the first two episodes so far. It's scary...

Chances are I'll watch Kai when I finish it as well.

You need to watch Kai after watching Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. Kai is incredibly awesome from start to finish. It also fills in the gaps left behind in it as well.

Also since I got all of Haruhi and Lucky Star on here I'll be watching them.

...and Strike Witches as they are released.

Ok I am watching Azumanga Daioh, Lucky Star, and Pani Poni Dash at the same time.

This won't at all be confusing.

Also Pani Poni Dash made a Higurashi reference on the chalkboard within the first episode. That is great!

After reading a bit about The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, I've decided to watch it all in chronological order. I'm currently at episode 6, or 9 chronologically, and so far, it's hilarious.

EDIT= It being almost 1:00 where I am, I just have enough time to say before sleeping that I just finished watching it... and still confirm my previous statement about the series.

Is Lucky Star good as well? Any other anime to suggest?

Have you seen Higurashi yet? It is amazing beyond description, so long as you watch all 50 episodes.

Lucky Star is good too, despite being mostly pointless. (Like how so much of the first episode is spent discussing how to eat food.)

There's also Pani Poni Dash!, which is random and crazy and able to hold my attention unlike so many things I try to do.

The only other thing I've seen is Card Captor Sakura, which was fun to watch. It may not be your thing (it's a stereotypical magical girl animé), but I would watch it again.

Seconding Pani Poni Dash. The random things that go on are awesome and the references made are pretty hard to catch up on unless you have video notes on. The episodes I have downloaded have dubs and video notes so finding them all is a bit easier. It is great when you see on the chalkboard "Hau I want to take you home!" and knowing where it is from.

Also adding:

School Rumble - Basically a high school romance story but it is very hilarious. I watched it all and couldn't stop laughing at many of the things they did in the show.
Gurren Lagann - I already explained why here but again, giant mechs with a good story, awesome characters, and full of twists and turns. Quite great.

I thought I would have more, but I guess since I'm still watching some I won't for a while. Heh.

There was a version of Card Captor Sakura that I used to watch when I was young, so I guess I can watch the original later, plus Poni Poni Dash sounds good. As soon as I finish the second half of Lucky Star, I'll start watching them.

EDIT= I finished Lucky Star earlier today, it's very good. So far, I have Death Note, Pani Poni Dash and Card Captor Sakura for the first month of school, which will suffice for now.

This person speaks the truth.

School Rumble almost had me die laughing (well, the second season did) and Gurren Lagann is epic.

I'll poke Higurashi.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei will begin in a couple of months. Seems like a 5-part OAV though.

I just got through season 2 of Higurashi myself.

Didn't really like the ending, rest of it was great though.

Now I need to find something else to watch.

So, I just finished watching both "seasons" of Jubei-chan: The Ninja Girl, as recommended by Tanks. It's an action-comedy that shares many traits with the Magical Girl genre.

It started out fairly disappointing, but it picked up right about when it dropped the Villian of the Week formula. By the end of the first "season," it was actually very good. The second "season" was even better than that, and it also gradually got better as it went along.

I'd certainly recommend it to anybody who has about 10 and a half hours of spare time.

For my first post in this thread, I'll point out that I've watched quite a bit of anime from Haruhi all the way to Sailor Moon. If anyone here has suggested it, you can bet that I've watched it. Sooo... Yea...

Now, like I was saying in IRC when I reccomended it, Jubei-chan starts out slow and does suffer from the usual 'a villian a day racks in money, hooray,' but it does pick up. And by the second season... Jeez, it's amazing... They made an effort to cram seriousness and comedy into both seasons. (Especially season 1's 'I AM THE URINAL QUEEN! I AM! I AM!~')

As for other out of the blue anime's, I've watched through Season 1 of Kemeko DX. It's what you could call a mech/comedy... (Emphasis on comedy.) Basically, you got a girl in a silly looking humanoid mech. While she's in said mech, she takes on a second personality and becomes a super human crazy person. Anyway, said mech claims to be fiance to a boy who has never laid eyes upon her before. (The mech girl mind you) Hilarity ensues. Overall, I enjoyed the comedy. It's random to the point where it's far more random than Jubei-chan but less than Pani-Poni. I guess that's enough to at least let it have some sort of sane plot.

Got the Perfect Collection of Witch Hunter Robin, all episodes, for my birthday. Huzzah!

Also, got a bootlegged copy of Black Lagoon. It was advertised and packaged as "Black Lagoon: The Second Barrage" (which is the second season), in english dub/sub. Turns out it was the full First season (which I already have), with questionable video quality: It was far too sharp. So sharp, I could see pixelization on my TV (it's a flatscreen, but I've never had that issue before with ANY DVD or VHS), which is odd. Oh well.

Well, ready your pitchforks and torches, because Kadokawa just pulled another cheap stunt on the subject of Haruhi.

They announced, through Newtype magazine, that "the Haruhi TV anime will finally return"...

They're re-running Season 1. Fucking fags.

Oh wow... That's terrible!

As long as I'm posting here...
I'm watching the following:
Soul Eater
Katekyo Hitman Reborn
Pani Poni Dash

All at the same time ^^ Katekyo Hitman Reborn is going really slow due to lack of fan-subs. It's not licensed for sale out of Japan, but FUNimation is still sending C&D letters to the fan-subbers.

If you're going to do Higurashi anything, you might as well invest time into the language and play Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Matsuri - Kakera Asobi for the PS2. I'm not even kidding. It's every arc + more + SO MANY TIPS + amazing music + super improved character designs.

By that point, you'll be able to play Higurashi Rei on the PC, and then you can move on to Umineko (I know it's in English, I'm speaking from a timeline perspective).

I'm being completely serious; the anime is terrible compared to the games, leaves out a whole mess of stuff, and is generally incomplete.

The only problem is...I don't import.

And I don't translate moonspeak. :\ Unless they've made a patch for the game for English...

And for whatever reason I decided to look at xxxHolic. It's not bad but nothing too terribly great either. I think I was more bored last night to drop in some eps before falling asleep than anything. I've yet to finish Tsubasa Chronicles because it takes a dive a few eps in...this one...not so much so.

I need something to watch, rewatching Gurren Lagann, Higurashi, and Lucky Star is starting to get old.

Any suggestions? I've already watched Haruhi and Death Note along with what I've said, as well as Magical Pokaan and Pani Poni Dash.
