Yeah, 15 is definitely epic too.

I watched 8 again recently. It's even more powerful than the first time.

I need to watch this. I've heard enough good things about it.

Recently I've been watching School Rumble and Higurashi. I need to get the last volume of School Rumble and I should really start watching the second season of Higurashi.

On the other side, I've yet to watch all of Haruhi and I have all of Outlaw Star. I've seen all of Evangelion, Martian Successor Nadesico, and... uh, I forget what else. My opinions on them differ.

I've been getting into anime more due to a certain IRC channel talking about it all the time.

Yes you should. If season one is the question phase, then season two is the answer phase, which is plain awesome

God I don't know how you 56kers live.
(I had not just dial up back in the day, but AOL! ... yikes)

I finished Full Metal Panic The Second Raid last night. Was pretty awesome, much more serious and intense than the first series and actually had more violence/blood. Nice, sadly still doesn't cover all of the novels so the series doesn't officialy end. I need more!

What do you mean "pretty much"?

Here's the computer with two pictures of the OS in use.

Here's screenshots of the Japanese edition of Windows XP doing the same thing.

...Yes. Now to watch more Higurashi...

I should get screenshots of the scenes I was referring to, it looks precisely like a common XFCE(?) theme I've seen, and there is a perfectly accurate depiction of the connectors of an IDE hard drive.

And you're right, that's clearly actual screenshots of XP. Even has the language bar, IE icon, etc. Also, "C:¥Documents and Settings". Don't tell me actual Japanese versions of Windows have that bug? I thought that only happened in certain programs on the English version that incorrectly default to a Japanese character set because the font doesn't have a "Western" set.

I should see if I can convince my brother to lend me his copy of Sonic Adventure 2. (Could be difficult giving it would have to be mailed across the country. ) There's a scene in there showing a computer screen that appears to be running XP as well.

Gah-What? I've put WAY too many hours into that game, and don't remember anything like that. Where is such a scene?

After the Sonic and Tails car chase, when they jump into the limo.

Also by episode 4 of Liminality, sure enough, hollywood computers. The ending seemed kinda abrupt too, I was expecting to see how everything actually turns out, despite it being obvious. Maybe it'd make more sense if I'd played the games first. (Too bad I can't find part one ANYWHERE )

I like to get my computing done in an efficient manner, though. Waiting 30-50 seconds for a page to load is.. Crappy.

On the topic of animé, I actually managed to finish the first season of ひぐらしのく頃に. (I find the double meaning in the title amusing.)
Spoiler:
Sweet vampire Buddha. A messed up timeline, bloody violence, people who were dead but not, and maggots. I never thought I'd want this to not end.

I also had nekogoroshi-hen* on hand, so I watched that, too.
Spoiler:
Wow, nobody died. Still, Rika acts like she knows more than she's letting on...

Now, I want to watch Kai, but my computer is still crap. Eh, I might as well try anyways.

*A bonus episode of Higurashi; see Wikipedia.

Spoiler:
Actually, the timeline is not messed up at all. It's linear, even. Season two clears that up.

Well, not having even started season two, I'll stick with what I've seen so far. Even though I know it's not the best way to be looking at things after seeing
Spoiler:
Shion masquerading as Mion.
(I never would've guessed.)

So I'm (about to) finish Death Note, after just starting it two days ago.

I think it's great but could've been better. It started off so incredibly well, but I think it loses its touch a bit around like episode 12 or so.
Spoiler:
When Light gives the Death Note back and teams up with L in a sense for awhile, it was still cool but I thought it was far more interesting when it was Light vs L like the beginning. And I think they could've made Misa more interesting. All in all, the L arc was definitely fun. After that I don't think it's as bad as some people say, but it's definitely not as good. Near and Mello aren't nearly as interesting. Now I'm just waiting to see Kira take over the world or something.

So many differences between the manga and the animé of .hack//Legend of The Twilight. Ubergeek drinking game? Any time you see a difference, take a drink! Noticeably there seem to be a lot less jokes in the animé. :-/ (But then, it's the English manga, so who knows how many of these jokes were just added by the translators... )

Death Note was pretty awesome. Overall a great series and had me hooked. It's made me want to pickup Monster again and finally watch it.

Light > L also ...

Spoiler:
I didn't think the 2nd story arc was as bad as some made it out to be, but it certainly wasn't as good as the L arc. Like I said above, Near and Mello were definitely not that interesting to me at all, especially Near. On one hand, I can see the ending as an utmost tragedy and pretty well done, on the other I was honestly hoping for Light/Kira to win in someway and basically become the God of the world. But, that probably would've been pretty dark and stretching it a bit I guess.
