what games come to mind for all the different times of day, ie games for the morning, the afternoon, the evening, and so forth? and what about weather conditions: games for snowy days, rainy days, slow summer days?

on the relationship between games and time of the day:
i've wondered how to best answer this for days, it's a very complicated and involved matter that i feel a proper answer would involve deconstructing a lot of terms and ideas with the question itself. as it relates to my particular very complex and deep relationship with time itself, and personal ritual behavior in accord to feelings and their involvement with art. so i feel more in depth thoughts would be best left to my own personal writings on it with all the proper background as support and all the time investment it would deserve.
but for a surface, simplified answer that may offer practicality: interaction with games and works in general is to me a conversation between my emotions and thoughts and those of the work itself, and so they're mostly associated to when do these conversations fit well together.
this way, for instace, on the time i feel is more for activity and doing daily routine patterns, lighthearted playthrough of larger things that take an involvement piece by piece to them as a project, or smaller ready to just play light things in a similar routine way are best, giving both a reflection of the passing of completion through this little by little project work inherent to routine, and still appreciating the instance as itself, as the little parts of an adventure. things like games i'd stream as proyects fit here best, where part of the focus is on the act of playing them.
meanwhile for the time i feel is more of a quiet involved time, personal heavier things worth more focus on themselves is probably better, an in-depth conversation with the work itself, perhaps.
then, for a time that is of a more personal and deeper reflexion on my more vulnerable and complex or whimsical feelings, that's where i leave the stranger and more meaningful and unique games for me. the things i seek a personal connection and answers from, or just enjoy in a more spiritually meaningful way. these can extend if it's things i'm particularly vulnerable and personal about.
for me, these times do roughly map to morning, afternoon, night and dawn. but ultimately it's mainly a conversation between my current mood and a work, and often they call for other complexities that want a different conversation at a different kind of moment entirely, or shift through many approaches
so rather than giving you a list, it's more like thinking about what kind of engagement you have or want to have with that game, and when do you associate that and how-- although often it's just simply the aesthetics that play a big factor.

on dream retro computer:
i'm not sure how to interpret this question, but that's okay.
i am actually not really a retro computer enthusiast, so i don't really have many thoughts on it nor much of the knowledge for a particularly interesting answer.
from my interest in retro japanese gaming i've been long interested primarily in the MSX, and it's many different variations. i'd like to dig in depth through it's games, mainly because it has a particular aesthetic i really like, though i barely scratch the surface of understanding it as a machine. i also have similar but lesser feelings for the NEC PC98, and in that regard i'm more curious about it's workings as a computer itself so maybe that's closer to an answer. i'm again not much of an enthusiast, but fussing with a variation of these two machines would be something i'd really enjoy, and just in general would like to learn more on
or, for a system that doesn't necessarily exist, i kinda somehow like the meme nes architecture, and have wondered how would it be if the fc were instead a capable computer on the likes of the msx and contemporaries, while retaining its particular feel. but then i remember family basic exists and it's cursed actually.
alternatively, i like thinkpads a lot and really could use a spare one right now. and generally been curious about old sturdy laptops in general

on inspiration:
you

my relationship with sonic games is a kind of weird one
i only played sonic 1 a few times as a child at my cousin's place, but i was well aware of the series and, even if not having played them, i appreciated and enjoyed them and the series regardless

until i got a dreamcast, where i played both sonic adventure games. i liked them a lot at the moment, and at the time i also got online and started making friends, so the series became kinda formative to me for social relationships, engaging in the wider fandom and all as a kid. then it was when i got a bunch of emulators and started playing most of the series i missed up until that point.
so the series is kinda meaningful for me, even though i haven't played every single game nor anything. once upon a time as a child i was involved with the fandom regardless.

anyways, long fast forward, i take a long retrospective look at all the games, seeing them, and they all have this interesting relation on how sincere and insincere within themselves they feel, how they have some really good things going on yet really jank executions of some things for one reason or another, and how this does actually extend to literally the entire series for the very beginning, not just Those 3D Games.
(this includes sonic 06, too; despite being for a great chunk what i'd classify as garbage and for a greater chunk a complete disaster, buried beneath it are some really interesting foundations for some pretty good things, and some just genuinely good small fragments of something. mostly in shadow's story)

with all this said, sonic adventure 1 is one of the most, enthusiastically optimistic and sincere games i've seen? it just, is full of a very sincere heart and optimism for a future, at the dawn on the internet, at the dreamcast itself, and a lot of many things, and the feel and scope of what they tried to do feels for the most part extremely sincere. and this is a quality i've gotten to appreciate very much out of a game.

i like my fiancee, who does fit the fancy and mysterious masked villain card, so yes.

i like tragic figures. something with an air of misery, and a bit of mystery.

but seriously, i like well framed tragic antivillains, especially really noble and innocent people who go through an immense suffering and are pretty justified, and either are being taken advantage of by a greater evil or completely lose their soul and redemption. it's a good trope

dragon is the obvious choice-- particularly the kind that are gods. feathery, serpentine deity kind of dragon.

otherwise, moths are actually the closest animal to enlightment, dancing on the line of life and death, their burning to the flames tearing thoughts of life as survival against life as purpose and beauty, setting their soul free of the suffering of samsara

i actually have not played nor seen a full playthrough of the thousand year door. i know and am familar with a few of the characters and the overall plot, and some parts of the game completely out of context, but that game has been a blind spot for me for a long time.
i adored super paper mario, it felt a wonderful meaningful game to me, but the original paper mario felt really disappointing to me. this combined with also the Popular Gamer Opinions on the series left me quite bothered, and with some negative feelings pre-attached to it.

regardless, i've been long meaning to either play ttyd sometime, or see a playthrough of it by someone close.

in such a day, then i'll see how cool lord crump really is.

Thank you for the thoughtful answer on my Sonic question! Sonic Adventure 1 really does just ooze inspiration and innovation, and you've put it in a great way.

Here's a new one: Do you use a bookmarks toolbar in your browser, or otherwise rely on bookmarks in your day-to-day navigation of the Web?

further thoughts on lord crump, and on watching playthroughs in general:
i ended up watching a little anyways, i like recurring meme trouble characters that accentuate story highlights, and "unwittingly getting the resources for the villains" is also a pretty good trope, especially in videogames where there's always the expectation that you're getting stuff for your quests
so he's kinda neat, i like what i see

i have a weird attitude watching people's playthroughs-- i enjoy watching people play videogames a lot, but there has to be a personal element to it that makes it kinda picky. it's hard to explain, but for things i have been meaning to check it has to be someone i'm familiar with-- i think my girlfriend wants to show me this game herself, so that'll be nice to watch.

on browser bookmarks:
well, first of all i'm used to using multiple browsers on my day to day, so that's one aspect to it

i kinda went through different phases. at first, i meticulously bookmarked everything i liked in the bookmarks menu, arranged in folders ranging from sites i used to other things. back then i didn't like the bookmarks toolbar, as it took space on the screen
at some point though my stance completely switched-- i never used menu bookmarks ever, and had a bunch of toolbars at once. they were cluttered with stuff, like actual tools, and sites i frequented that warranted a permanent spot (like jul!)-- but it got quickly unwieldy, so most of my navigation became memorizing the urls themselves and using that and just dropping an endless pile of "stuff i want to check later" to an absurdly overflowed toolbar

nowadays i kinda use a mixture of different things. i like having things arranged in menus again, and quick access to relevant things in buttons and folders. but the "just type stuff in the address bar and put whatever to check later in the toolbar" meme is a bad habit that's gotten stuck to me. i should clean up my bookmarks.

i'm kinda like that with everything, too, i just have everything memorized and go through the cumbersome proccess of getting to it myself instead of just conveniently bookmarked.

i don't like to play them. i'm really, really bad at strategy games, and micromanagement in general?

there's plenty of games that interest me, and i like conceptually and learning about, but actually playing them is a complete nightmare

strategy games have you do a constant stream of endless irreversible decissions on an overwhelming amount of micromanaged stuff that by design is more than you can go with which is just something i'm fundamentally bad at-- i'm terrible at multitasking. i like to hyperfocus and delve into the nuances of specific things, managing things broadly is just generally not my skill.

make them rts games and it's just nearly unplayable. even something like the musou/warriors games are difficult to play for me!

i do enjoy and am fascinated watching people play them, i always like to learn all the complex stuff that goes on in these games, but they're very much not for me.

that said, despite that i still enjoyed playing some of them and some are as themselves favourites of mine. i liked final fantasy tactics, and i'm told i would like the ogre battle games.
but there's many that i tried that i just couldn't get into. fire emblem, yggdra union, and so on. the ones that go best with me are the ones that are more like an standard jrpg with just the isometric battlefield situation, rather than an ongoing campaign situation.

i quite don't, sorry. the humor, mood, and art really are not my thing. and i don't like the characters much, which i feel is one of the most important things for me to play a game too-- the characters need to feel right with me, and often entirely has made or broken a game i'd otherwise have different feelings for.
i also don't really understand it's "point", it feels like an odd crossover to come out of nowhere, and given the history of the rabbids, one that i cannot help but feel cynical about, which is rare for me.
i already struggle with tactical strategy games that i'd really want to enjoy-- pokemon conquest comes to mind. but it takes just way too much dedication. i need to really, really like it.

so i'm sorry for the negative feelings for the game. it's just not my thing.
