Probably time to make a thread about this proper, since it's only going to be a matter of time before the operating system launches here in about a month. I've been on the pre-release/preview copy now since it was leaked to the public and, for the most part, it's been all right and there's been quite a few things it's fixed as time goes on. There's a lot of things like Android support that will not be available at launch though and there's a few features that are coming to W10 that were supposed to be exclusive to W11 with the 21H2 release around this time.
I'm not entirely certain who this really caters to, that said. I don't think early adopters of W11 are really going to get all that much from the experience right now. I put it on my main just to see what I'm going to be up against come release and to see what all is going to happen with new computers and I will be seeing how machines react to it from a complete wipe and reload once it releases (especially older systems) since I want to get acclimated to what MS is about to throw at us - both professionally and otherwise. I think, for the most part, it'll do the job but I don't really see why we need it right now nor did we ever. I really take W11 so far as a response to Apple learning to count past 10 themselves with Big Sur and so on. I also want to point out that, along with the interesting requirements this time around, it may not be possible to have the home copies work without a Microsoft account this time around. You'll be able to work around it with Pro, but not Home. Still not clear if there's a workaround to this or if MS really wants to shoot themselves in the foot on this one. Though, according to XDA and my own tests with the Pro copy, that might not be entirely true... I just don't know if this will be on the release version or not. ____________________ |
Yea I've got Fedora running on an Acer that supports only UEFI/Secure and that is something that's possible but you definitely want to set it up as such out of the gate instead of after the fact.

Honestly, with how it brings back the Win7 start menu and Explorer command bar, I think it's making me enjoy the UI more than 10's
