mostly unrelated but one time when i was on a flight, i opened a speedometer app i had on my phone

it managed to get a lock on a gps for a bit and happily showed like 350 mph, which was just a little too high for its inicator


i can't remember ever being on a real train other than like, a short monorail

because I live relatively far from big cities, we'd only get a few trains every few hours or so.
what this means: I have to get to work by 9AM, so with trains I had to wake up at 6AM to catch the only available train at 6:45AM. miss it and you're boned.

nowadays I can just wake up slightly before 9AM for obvious reasons

'd be nice if trains were more of a thing in Florida. SunRail's supposed to have a phase 2 that extends further in each direction but it appears to be in development hell. It's also supposed to extend to the airport to link up with Brightline's expansion from West Palm Beach thereto, allowing us to take the train all the way to Miami.
