It's been nearly 20 years of Acmlm's Board, sort of. If you count from the beginning of the first "real" board and don't mind the various explosions.

It's kind of surreal that we've been here this long — I'm having trouble thinking of many communities that have been around for as long, even if this one has gone through a lot to get to where it is...



Personally, my 20th Acmlmversary will be around 9 PM on July 1st, which is still mind-bending...

Wowie. I never actually posted on the real acmlm but my first acmlmlike board was 2003. I think by that time there had already been a couple of explosions, which was the nature of forums back then, wasn't it? That's the reason I never actually joined, it seemed much too much for me. But sometimes I hold out hope that I'll see one of those old names that I remember pop up here again.

Wow, it's hard to believe. I still remember stumbling upon Acmlm's site back in 2001 after finding screenshots of random NES Mario hacks. I didn't play any of them, I just collected individual tile graphics from screenshots people posted.

I still consider this place a sort of home for me, even if I don't come home very often anymore.

I joined in 2006 and it was a bumpy ride at first for sure I can't believe it's been 14 years ... back then was such a completely different era to me.

I have to thank this these places for opening my mind to gender identity much earlier then I would experienced offline. It wasn't something I heard people talk about growing up and definitely wasn't taught at schools, but it was normal on this site and I matured with the thought that it was normal offline as well.
