The good thing is, it appears everyone in my family is doing well and taking the necessary precautions as the state is still in a half-quarantine. The bad thing is, if the problems with the virus itself aren't already bad enough, we're also gonna have to deal with the economic problems arising from it, at a time when things were already pretty bad.
One of the ways this whole economic thing will affect me personally is that, my hopes of buying a Nintendo Switch this year are basically gone now. Over here in Brazil, it went from $550 last year (at last year's exchange rate) to $654 this year (at today's exchange rate). It was already overpriced before mind you. And that's not even mentioning how our currency (R$ or BRL) suffered a heavy hit in the last few months, so that little $100 extra weights more like a $250 change to us. Even the Switch Lite had the exact same price spike. And they're still running out of stock! And this is happening at a time where people are getting fired or having pay cuts rather than raises. I don't even have an appropriate reaction for this anymore. I'm lucky we're still gonna be able to afford the rent, food and other basic expenses for the next few months, but I can't help but think about everyone else who will not be able to. ____________________ "The quieter you become, the more you are able to hear." --Ram Dass
