Do any of y'all use MAME? I figured I'd ask because there have been a few interesting developments of late, mainly the addition of System 573 Digital and SGI Indy/Indigo² emulation. Both of these systems were previously thought unemulatable, due in the former case to MP3 patents & encrypted music and in the latter case to the glut of custom silicon in SGI machines. Granted, the latter is still quite slow.

I use MAME since a lot of arcade games didn't get perfect ports or weren't ported at all. Its one size fits all approach works well for things like individual control mapping and pixel scaling but not so much simulating machines like old handhelds where it doesn't give you the proper feel of using the device. And the analog controls work great for Super Hang On but a lot of early 3D Namco racers are near unplayable at this point.

Deep-sixed my usage of that long ago. It got replaced by FBA or, really, FightCade. I mean, how else am I supposed to play ST with people from Brazil and remain sane with good rollback netcode at that distance?
