It's really fun!

Got a copy of the game to share with a family member, but they've been busy for the last two weeks so I made sure to play as much as possible while I still had the chance. I didn't have any plans to play online regularly and thus didn't feel pressured to unlock everyone as soon as possible, so I put aside Smash mode/Classic mode and just took my time going through World of Light mode. I 100%ed it in about 24 hours of playtime, but it was so fun that I decided to aim for collecting all 1297 spirits and spent another week or so doing Spirit Board and Summon shenanigans; at this point the only ones I need are fighter spirits, from... clearing each character's Classic mode (or buying from the Shop). Oops.

There are a lot of characters but they're all seemingly well-balanced, at least for casuals like me and my friends. Sure is fun when everyone has multiple mains and yet no one shares any! When playing somewhat seriously, as someone that doesn't care enough to learn long combos or whatever, I tend to prefer projectile-based/keep-away characters, such as Link, Olimar, Robin, and to a lesser extent Villager (basically the same four I played in Smash 4).

Now that the only real thing left to do is finish the remaining 40+ Classic runs (and whatever other challenges I haven't done yet), and especially after playing almost six hours every day, I'm already somewhat burnt out on the game... which kinda works out well since family isn't busy anymore and I have to share the game again, which forces me not to overplay. Looking forward to visiting a friend in person next week and having a Smash party!

it feels like smash 3ds/wiiu, but more polished and fun
every character i played in 4 feels at least a little better,
and some of them, like palutena, have become really good
pichu is very fun too... and so cute

this game fuckin whoops ass

mains:
- Isabelle (her fishing rod/gyroid mechanics are all sorts of fun, and her regular attacks are surprisingly strong. plus she's adorable!!!!!!!!! duh!!!!!!!!)
- Young Link (remote bombs are cool, but i think i like fire arrows even more. and that's even with the nerf)
- Wolf (he's basically Fox but he doesn't fall like he's a dang ol Castlevania. hard to get used to but super fun once you do)

seconds:
- Dedede (cool air game. cool ground game. basically cool game)
- Snake (his combos are super cool and it's fun to be a general shithead as him)
- Ganondorf (sword!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
- Peach (most fun she's been like ever basically. she actually feels like, usable now and good)

i'm genuinely surprised that the smash game that has 70 fucken characters in it has such a consistent quality/viability of characters (or so it seems)

It's great! The new fighters are fun to play as, especially Isabelle.

The spirits are lots of fun. Seeing obscure characters like the princess from Wario Land 4 and Tatanga is a treat just by itself, but then the references that they pack into the battles makes it even better. The way they choose character costumes, rules, abilities, and music brings a big smile to my face.

I also really like some of the bosses they added. I'm sure some people will say there isn't enough, but it's amazing that we got the ones we did.

i've enjoyed smash a ton but the final parts of the adventure mode are so poorly thought out minus one thing that had me back on board, only to immediately turn me off right after it

its fun and all, but it also just kind of goes on way too long
the final area should've been smaller and more concise,
and they probably shouldve just dropped the light/dark clones fight part,
and the long climb up to the boss rush
getting to play as in an officially sanctioned way was really cool though...
