I'm gonna put this here.

MoonEdit is multiplayer notepad. It's like piratepad/etherpad but not a webapp.

Here's Windows installer

I have a server going at mini.xkeeper.net, port 32123.

(Don't go to moonedit.com, the homepage has been down for a decade and it's some malware site now.)

Heck yeah, this was a ton of fun last night. Definitely gonna hang around this a little if ever we get a little following for it, heh.

IRC is just multiplayer notepad.

In all seriousness it seems interesting, I hope to join a session at some point soon.

I remember MoonEdit from back in ye old pre-Jul days, I think. Never played with it though.

Sadly I missed out on messing around with it during that stream the other day but I'd be down to have some fun with it another time.

Would that there were a Mac binary…

Does the Windows one run well in WINE, does anyone know?

Worth a shot, seeing that it's probably old enough not to do anything that WINE couldn't necessarily handle at this point.

The Windows version works fine under WINE, at least for me (though for some reason when the save dialog box opens the rest of the screen goes black for a moment). Haven't been able to test the networking features yet but I don't think those should be a problem either.

It works fine in WINE on ubuntu at least. I know because I've been using it.

The server is currently up at mini.xkeeper.net : 32123. It will probably stay there for a while, but if it goes down please let me know and I'll get it back up.

It works under wine-staging in Mint near perfectly. I had some weirdness when saving, but that may just be me. I was on the stream, it was very silly until the person who basically was just posting ads about their stuff.

I'll throw up the Linux binaries if anyone's interested, too.

Slightly less full-featured than the Windows version, but I think the saving works a little better.
