I don't think this thread has been created before, but if it has, I'm sorry. Anyway, which movies that you've seen are the worst, and why? Please be respectful if someone posts a movie you like that is listed here.

Mine: United Passions (2014) - It was cllearly a film to "vindicate" ex-FIFA boss Sepp Blatter, but it fails miserably at that. There's just so many things wrong with that film that it'd take forever to list just exactly why the film's awful.

Ah shit, there's so many.

Recently, "Bright" and "Suicide Squad" both come to mind. I couldn't even watch Bright all the way through, and I only watched Suicide Squad all the way through because my husband made me.

I started watching "Plan 9 from Outer Space" and also couldn't actually finish that.

I was hoping to watch "The Room" with my husband but I've been going to bed early because I'm exhausted by the baby, and so he watched it without me.

i’ve gotten over films that are technically inept at this point. the surreality of “bad cinema” has become banal thanks to the advent of YouTube. like what separates The Room from 5-digit view count short films on YouTube made by a guy and a dSLR? a few thousand dollars, but otherwise not that much, tbh.

and yet NLPT is just a cynical, evil movie. it’s difficult to say how repugnant it is. it’s truly a movie made by a misanthrope who had no artistic vision and wanted to debase everyone in the movie. i don’t blame Paris Hilton for being embarrassed that her name is attached to it. i’d be embarrassed too.

I've seen The Room about a dozen times in the theater, and as terrible as it is... it may not be the worst movie I've ever seen anymore, but certainly not the worst. Hell, I don't even think it's the worst thing Tommy Wiseau has ever done after seeing a few episodes of The Neighbors.

Samurai Cop is probably my favorite "so bad it's good" movie. The Kickstarted sequel felt more like a script for some bland cyberpunk movie, with the SC characters shoehorned in.

I've sat through a lot of bad movies, but the last one I had to just stop watching was Batman V. Superman. How bad was it? When I stopped watching it, the next movie I flipped to was the Jem movie... and I was able to sit through all of THAT, despite it being a total pile of shit. BvS was just a colossal mess with the shittiest script and terrible pacing.

I've heard a lot of people say that the AVGN movie was either bad or "way too geeky"... I saw it, and it was exactly what I expected from James Rolfe, which is pretty much "meh". If you've ever seen any of his non-gaming videos, you know his influences were old giant monster movies and B-rated schlock, and it shows in his movie.

For all the instant awesome its concept offered, Transformers (insert name here) is a letdown.
Pacing and script issues galore.

The less said about TMNT 3 or Robocop 3 the better... hah.

This coming from one who generally enjoyed Super Mario Bros. At least it's entertaining.

I remember watching Chernobyl Dairies at school years ago, and we went into that knowing it was a terrible movie.

From what I remember they were correct. Maybe I should try watching it again? I'm not that much of a horror fan though.

just rewatched The Master of Disguise, a really sad incoherent movie where they clearly shot a lot more footage than the hour or so of the racist and generally just flat out unfunny footage they produced and didn't know how to edit it

weirdest thing was knowing that the Turtle Club scene was shot on Sept. 11 2001 and that everyone in that had to deliver the scene with that sitting in the back of their minds

yeah there's a lot repugnant about this movie. i don't think he was thinking about anything. it seems like they just had him improv in several costumes each day and then called it a day. his dialogues are incoherent, leading me to think he's really bad at improv.

one of my friends watching it with us pointed out that Carvey had stolen the entire main character from Andy Kaufman.

As an avid Transformers fan, it pains me to say that the latest film, Transformers: The Last Knight, was absolute garbage. The first movie was excellent, the second and third were not as good but still enjoyable. The 4th one was different but still a step down for 2 & 3. But this latest one was just a mess. Storylines all over the place, incoherent plot lines that didn't mesh with previous films (more so that the other 4 movies), bad dialogue, and the worst over the top "epic battle" scenes of any sci-fi mainstream movie in a long time. They butchered one of my favorite villain's story arcs (Unicron) on top of butchering Galvatron's story in movie #4.

¹ imo every scene with Adrien Brody is good, especially the one where he yells "bad color.... BAD COLOR!!"--that scene was genuinely memorable and well-directed

In the post-Oscar hype I got around to seeing some of the nominated and award-winning films.

The Shape of Water wasn't good. Generally when you do a romantic drama you set up at least something resembling a plot that would allow for the circumstances of the drama and the romance to happen. This film just leans heavily on the fact that it's vaguely fantasy (I think people are calling it "low fantasy"? though I thought that was code for "Arthurian style medieval fiction, without the proliferation of magical elements") to just say "eh, well, this happens."

The ending throws away the low part of "low fantasy" entirely and it turns out we've been watching Guillermo Del Toro channeling the Brothers Grimm and then trying to turn it around with some Disney at the end.

Maybe I just don't "get" it.

Get Out should have won best picture. I didn't really feel that the score was all that great, but I guess it was the least meh out of the nominees in that category (if it weren't *original* score, Baby Driver could have and would have taken that hands down).

Mad Max: Fury Road. The practical effects were great, I'll freely admit, but the movie as a whole was just garbage. Nothing happened. It was such a boring movie, and I really wish I hadn't gone and bought the thing. Though, I suppose it was cheaper than seeing it in the cinemas.

I also just got back from watching Ready Player One. Oh boy.
