you may not realize it, but you can fully customize your dates according to the php date() syntax on Jul. so i’m curious as to how you have your dates set.

as of today, i switched over to Chinese date styles:

and thus see this on the forum:

so what about you? props to the person w/ the wackiest date format.

This thread inspired me to finally fix the server offset.

Nothing very exciting for mine. Got rid of the weird US date, we use d-m-y in 'Straya, mate.

Aaah, cool... yeah, I guess that's worth making the links at the top of the page being even further to the left...

Although... Thu 25/01/2018 12:49:17 (@909) (as the time was when I looked a few minutes ago) looks very wrong to me. Given I'm in Europe/London, that should be @575...

I use m-d-y H:i, which looks like, for example, 02-15-18 19:00.

This thread also made me realize that I had to change my timezone offset, even though I've been in a different time zone for nearly two years. I'm surprised I never noticed.

Mine is d-m-y H:i:s, which isn't very exciting either. It bothers me whenever some site doesn't allow me a sensible way to display time, and instead forces months first.

That may actually be me.

I'm pretty sure I didn't stop to ask if I should before I asked if I could.

I decided to go with the standard of where I live: d/m/y H:i:s (24h)

The capabilities of changing the date format is something I always seen as cool but never actually went around and done anything with it.

I don't close it because the input box doesn't allow enough characters for that. However, it's closed implicitly when the table cell ends.

I feel like this is both simultaneously cheating but also making a good case for making the time display field a varchar(255). hmm.

This thread reminded me to fix both the date order and the fact that due to DST/no DST in the states, my timezone offset was 2 hours out.

But I just went d-m-y

mine's m/d/Y h:ia. boring

i just use it because it's easy for me to "scan" and doesn't take up any unnecessary characters. reasonable readability/space compromise, i think, altho i could probably go even further and set the "Y" to a "y" but for some silly reason i don't like truncated years... even tho it'll prolly only matter if i become a supercentenarian

i kinda like Y-m-d format because it's both logically ordered and easy for a silly idiot american like me to get adjusted to (month still comes before day), but i've been too lazy to switch to it so far :x
same deal with 24hr time being generally more logical, but i kinda use 12hr time everywhere just cuz i value consistency over using the "best" time (i even use 12hr time on IRC!!!!!). the dominoes gotta fall one way or the other and so so many things use 12h by default because they assume i want it cuz i'm USA so i just kinda roll with it cuz i'm never gonna be able to "correct" all the formats anyways
