Hi.

I was wondering if someone could rip me the character's GFX from the SM Allstars version of SMB2, or at least tell me how to rip the GFX from SMB2 in the Allstars ROM. I found some Beta sprites that haven't been used inside the ROM, but I wasen't sure about ripping the actual ones that are displayed when you're playing the game.

I'm working on a SMB2-like SMW Hack, and I'm just wondering if anyone can help me/tell me how to rip the SMB2 GFX.

Oh noes, somebody call the WAAHbulance. Big freakin' deal if you have to rip 'em yourself. Stop whining! It took me 6 hours to get some of my ExGfx backgrounds set up, such as Dust Hill Zone and Launch Base Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog... 6 hours, that's right. And my Overworld took over 24 hours to finish, 20 of which I worked on all at once without sleep. My point is, if you're not willing to put in a little effort in your hack, you best not be involved in the hacking scene. No exceptions.

And yeah, I may be a bit of a hothead, but I make a valid point. So get up off your butt and start rippin'. And show us a screenshot of your finished project so we can actually feel proud of you and that you're at least competent.

I have to agree fully! I see way to many people asking for help all the time.
Some things maybe hard. But sprite ripping? Come again?
You could just open the ROM in a tile editor and search for the sprites!
If that wont do. Do like I did when I ripped GFX from GBA games. Take a screen cap and open it in paint, zoom in and draw the pixels in a tile editor.

I would not mind if you ask HOW to rip. But asking some one to do it for you is.....
Well lame is the only word I can come up with. :/

Open a spritesheet in Paint, pick the colors you need with the "Color Picker" and look at it's RGB value to copy them to Lunar Magic. With this method I rip GFX from spritesheets. This would be one method to get GFX from spritesheets.

Also, ripping from SMAS is easy. The GFX are decompressed, just open the ROM in YY-CHR. (Note: SMAS not SMAS+W)

Most graphics are near the bottom.

I meant the character gfx; not the background gfx. SMAS+SMW also works. I found the character gfx as it's after some SMB3 pipe bg data.
