There was this device that allows one to transmit and receive signals that arrived on a doorstep. It's clearly a half-duplex device, being able to both transmit and receive, but being able to do only one or the other at a time.
I took it over to someone and they casually mentioned it could emit a frequency at 300 Hz. So, I thought to record a piece of audio at 44100Hz Mono (b/c this is a lame microphone), then slowed it down to 300 Hz for transmission (using a hex editor). This device was then connected to my computer through the USB port, when I then pressed a button to transmit a message. I did get a response back though, "DIYUS MAITAGA" in a squeaky voice. |
