i think that site is cool as shit
back when i was trying to get burned dreamcast games to run on my dreamcast i extracted the GDROM for SA1 and found a bunch of HTML documents (sort of an early version of that site there actually i think). it struck me how internet-aware SEGA was compared to their competitors back when the internet felt like this brand new, vital thing the VMU at the time felt like sort of a precursor to smartphones and stuff here in the west, being able to take something that kept you connected to other people with you. back when that felt cool and good and when it wasn't just nazis screaming at you through telephone wires & satellites anyway it's neat that this little piece of history still exists ____________________ |
Webring.org still exist, and while it looks a little more modern than some of the other sites here, many of the sites it links to are ancient. Most links are dead, unfortunately, but some aren't. One of my favorites is The Daily Ghost Planet.
Actually, I'm having trouble navigating the site right now. Just a couple weeks ago everything was working nicely. I wonder if by going there I alerted someone that they were still serving this crap?
Here's a site by certifiable web-head and certified Canadian, Bryan Edwards.
I don't know what this is, but it screams 1998
Did you know that Angelfire was still around? As is Tripod, and still hosting The Shania Twain Webring!
I'm not sure what this is, and I'm not sure I could ever recreated the rabbit-hole I went down to end up there.
But yeah, you could say I enjoy old websites. Thanks for the nostalgia trip, mushmouth! If i find any other weird, old sites, I'll send 'em your way!
