four of these, which now go around my loft, turning the area into its enclosed own room:

like so:

this lovely rice cooker, discovered at the thrift store and restored through an involved process, a National rice cooker of 2002 vintage:

also my friend Frankensteined one of these with the nicest parts:

and now that’s my desktop workstation. lightning fast and it’s got two SSDs.

finally, got myself one of these after a long journey to the suburbs:

this provides some subtle filling of shadows cast by all the hanging and ceiling light fixtures. it also creates beautiful rimmed lighting around people who sit across from me at the dining table. very cozy.

I just bought myself a Thinkpad x61. It arrived on Saturday, and I'm quite happy with it.

For Christmas I got this really nice green lantern ring, along with an iPad.

Metal green lantern ring with a clear green gem.

It's kinda difficult to see here, but the sides have the lantern symbol as well.

Was forced to buy a new 2 TB HDD after my 500 GB one died (taking all its data with it) as mentioned elsewhere on the forums. Now ordered a USB 3.0 HDD enclosure, for which I'll be buying another 2 TB HDD over the next couple of days, to be used for backup purposes only.

Also ordered a cheap-but-supposedly-alright PC microphone for when I'll try streaming again, not sure when that'll be. I do know what I might be streaming, if I'll be able to control the game properly (X360 D-pad = awful), and that's Puyo Puyo Tetris for PC, which just launched today on Steam.

I bought a Women's Weekly cook book. It's "Our Favourite Slow Cooker Recipes", and I'm super excited about it. I love my slow cooker. Especially with the baby's bedtimes being weird, it's a good way to make sure I have dinner WHILE IT'S STILL HOT.

It's nothing too adventurous, just classics like bolognese (although my bolognese already rocks so hmmm), and beef bourguignon, and butter chicken, and tikka masala, and ratatouille. Still, those are good things to know how to make, and things the whole family is likely to enjoy.

As I said, I'm excited.

EDIT: I've decided to make the lamb rogan josh because it doesn't have any ingredients that I might have trouble finding a salt reduced version of, so I can give it to the baby as well!

Yesterday the ADB keyboard for my Apple IIgs finally arrived-- all I need is for the monitor to show up and I'll have a pretty good setup! (GS/OS looks so terrible on a composite monitor it's kind of amusing)

We got some sparkly brown nail polish and some basic facial makeup. Now we can be slightly prettier. ^..^ Also a Google Play card for some upcoming purchases, and a water filter pitcher.

a really exciting update today, i got a new bedframe! i was sleeping on a bent up little camper up until now. still needs a proper mattress but as you can see its already getting use out of it ;p my room is so dimly lit haha, i could really use some hanging lights or something to liven it up.

and heres some new makeup i got from the dollar store down the road a couple days ago. im trying to play with it more, i usually just do foundation and some eyeliner or mascara but i havent really played with lipstick or eyeshadow since i was little.

edit: oops i almost left this out- i also got some new lotion and an apple cinnamon scented candle that im burning right now.

im really happy with my new stuff! channeling that taurus energy right now.

This has been a little while ago, but I ended up receiving a Fujitsu tablet from 2001 running Windows XP.
It originally ran Windows 98 SE apparently, but it got upgraded to XP at some point, which would be a good thing if it weren't for XP running somewhat slowly.

I'm... not really using it for anything though, other than testing out how awkward some of the early tablets are.

Been a month since I got this, but gonna post about it anyway.

I got a Powerbook G4, with a 12" screen, 867mhz processor, and 640mb of RAM. The seller said it only had minor cosmetic damage but otherwise completely worked, but some of the damage was more major (as in the latch that holds it closed is missing, and in the listing the seller is holding it closed) and the battery holds a 15-25 minute charge. Filed a claim against the seller and I ended up getting it for free!

Great for connecting to tilde.town and chatting on IRC.

Since it runs Tiger it's compatible with the Classic environment.

I got a car! It's a piece of shit!

It's actually my mum's old car, and she's given it to me so I can get around with the baby. I spent some time on the weekend cleaning it up and it's not so bad. Husband is buying me a bluetooth adapter for the cassette tape deck so I can listen to things from my phone.
