Went to a thrift store the other day, and got a "new" motherboard from around 2005 for $5. It's Athlon64 compatible, and I'm planning on using it to build my first 64 bit computer

I also stumbled across a very strange full-size ISA card, and upon looking it up figured out that is was a very clunky 5250 emulator, so now I can connect to a very obscure, old, and expensive computer!

Lastly I got a new USB SD card reader, since every previous one has failed me....

What's stopping you? Time? Money? I'm betting it's a bit of that last one… Lego gets pretty expensive! We're lucky to have somewhere nearby that specialises in Lego so we can order individual pieces, but it still gets pricey. Our Infinity Cubes cost $16 each, but only because they had a 30% off sale.

What is stopping me is I am in college 3 hours away from my LEGO table. I have turned each set I have that uses wheels into Formula race cars. Next step is build in Lego Digital Designer, save, and build something else.

I used LEGO to make many characters for the graphic novel I am creating with my cousin.

I got a SNES Classic! Manage to refresh on Best Buy at the right moment, because apparently they were sold out in a minute.
Hakchi2's already on it, so I've added to the library, as well as threw some GBA games into the mix.

A spirograph! :o Apparently they still make these!

Also a spiffy new scientific calculator that likes to draw equations like in the book instead of being oblique about it. (Specifically a Casio fx-300ES PLUS.)

Yeah, I can tell... sometimes I feel like the only one on here... yet it's somehow more satisfying than a chat room... :j

I'm getting the Light L16. It ships sometime early 2018. The people who work in the Light Support email contact go by the name "Joe." I'm not sure if this is a real person, or if it is a name to say "I am whoever could answer your question after you replied to the previous person regarding something they knew nothing about."

Got a birthday present of the Satori Komeiji Nendoroid.

Very cute but also a pain to put together. Those heart strings are not easy to put on.

At least they are easier than Koishi's but dang.

Well, got Metroid: Samus Returns along with the special M:‌SR New 3DS XL at launch, so that was pretty nice! Got my first paycheck in a couple of weeks ago and oh my god, I should not be trusted with money. Went and bought Destiny 2 special edition, then a couple of days later, bought Final Fantasy XV Premium Edition, Lego Marvel Avengers and Lego Batman. I suppose one good thing is that none of those were actually at full price!

Next purchases for me are going to be a Corsair K70 RGB keyboard with Cherry MX Browns or Blues, to coincide with the release of Wolfenstein II!

Bought a Lenovo ThinkCentre M58 small form factor PC for just under 20€ shipped, with the intention of turning it into an HTPC/emulation box. Even the basic Pentium Dual-Core E5300 and Intel GMA 4500 graphics play 720p and 1080p video just fine, but I will still upgrade the system a bit over time; 4GB RAM are on the way, a faster dual or quad core CPU will probably come next month.

Was also given, uh, a 1970s oscilloscope that otherwise might've went to recycling. An acquaintance of a friend's dad, a former TV/radio technician, closed up shop a while back and the scope was one of the things left over by the end of it. Since my friend knew I've been doing some soldering, messing around with electronics, modding consoles and stuff, he thought that I'd have a use for it. So, I suppose I might be able to, say, troubleshoot a non-working Mega Drive or something now?

As for me? I got a vehicle. More details later, but oof, that's a lot of money.

Bought Wolfenstein II on Friday morning, let it install while I was at work, then came back and played it. It's s uch a good game. The writers definitely know how to write antagonists, and I'm not even talking about the Nazis.

I also bought a mechanical keyboard! Got the Ducky Channel Shine 5 with Cherry MX Blues, and it's such a nice keyboard. I'm surprised I can get this much joy from simply typing, but it's really nice to type on. Almost tempted to take up writing, just so I have a reason to use the keyboard more

I also bought Assassin's Creed 1, 2 and Brotherhood for the 360. I've already got them on the PS3, but I've definitely shifted over to the Xbox as of late, so it'd be nice to start a collection on there. Especially since I got Revelations and 3 for free with Xbox Live Gold.

I picked up the new South Park game after impatiently waiting for my roomie to get it. I was gonna hold off, but...well I really, REALLY wanted to play it.

I've been having a BLAST so far.

A decent fleece, finally. Layering fleece + windbreaker lets me bike in about any temperature within reason, and it's lovely. Also a water bottle and some razor blades, but those are pretty boring.

The only other thing I got was a third of a puerh cake from 03 (henry serious formula) I'm spliting with people. It's been a while since I've had good puerh, and I miss it exceedingliy.

Put them back to back, obviously.

I bought an ancient 128 MB stick of RAM and a 16 GB CF card. You can probably guess why.

I also need to go get my registration information for the car I bought

Got more bits and pieces for that Lenovo ThinkCentre-turned-HTPC, including a 2.66 GHz Core 2 Quad Q9400 and a low-profile GeForce GT 710. Kodi runs very well, RetroArch so far is hit and miss (depending on system and core, plus I still don't completely "get it"), and some gaming via Steam is possible, too, despite the GPU.

Still waiting on some fresh thermal grease that was supposed to arrive by yesterday; also ordered CPU heatsink and fan assembly from a higher spec version of this model, just to be safe (w/ copper core vs this lower spec's all aluminium heatsink).
