after looking at the punch out and these so called unused dodges i found out they are completely used in game
the people start dodging after a set amount of star punches are thrown in match.
there is a counter at 0348 which is used when it equals 0 they initiate this dodge mode .
the dodge is used when there is star punch thrown when the person is un-stunned and not throwing a punch
there is only one person that i know that does not dodge which is king hippo but there is no way to get a star off him in game so why program a dodge for an un-stunned star punch.

i only know two of the peoples star punch limits

Removed the dodges from the article. We really need more critical eyes looking into this. A big problem is that whole aspects, no matter how tiny they are, can be overlooked even by someone who has obsessively played it for several years.

For one, all of the photos you posted have been taken down. Even then, it's not sure which screen you meant by "get to this screen[, then] hold L2 [and] press X to get to the Japanese story mode ". Presumably, you have to do this from the main menu.

Also, when taking PS screenshots, make sure they aren't blurry/filtered.

Being such an obscure feature, wouldn't it be better to aknowledge it rather than removing all traces of it from the wiki?

To be honest, considering it's a vital gameplay element, it'd be better off documented on wikis dedicated to Punch Out or Nintendo in general.

Even if they are used in game, it is still very hard to get all the star punches required, then execute all the star punches without winning the fight.

I imagine that this feature is easier to see against tougher opponents rather than the easy ones. Of course, I've never played the game, so I could be wrong.

It might be a good idea to do research into these limits to find out if any of them are impossible or very difficult. For example, are there any fighters that would be defeated before earning enough star punches, without throwing any unnecessary punches? For someone who knows the game very well, this could be an easy question, but it is a question worth answering nonetheless.
