I quite like hearing about the old days of Acmlmboard, I just don't normally ask about it because I don't want to really bother anyone since I don't know if I should ask about it or not.

I knew a bit about the general way things happened, but that's about it really. For example, I didn't know exactly about the early days of Jul/Justus League 2, I thought only Jul 1 was private. I wasn't there to see it so I really can't say anything for sure, but it's weird to think that all this crazy Acmlmboard stuff happened in basically I2, I3 and II, since each lived for like two whole years.

(There were a lot of spinoff boards based on Acmlmboard that didn't go anywhere, too; it'd be interesting to see how many of those are still around, if any.)

The only ones I could find by doing a quick google search are Xeogaming and The EDS Forums (The Earth Drake's Sanctuary). I think they're mostly gone, or at least slightly broken due to old code.

Well doing a google search, I found this This looks very ancient as it was based off of Acmlm board .7 . I think there's a place somewhere where you can download this version of Acmlm's board through the wayback machine but can't remember the url for it. If I do find it, I'll pull the downloads that I can and re-host them for those interested.

Been with it for 7 years and I can only say this community is the only constant in my life.

Huh, how's about that for value.

Happy 10th.

The most popular spinoff Acmlmboard is Vizzed.

It's been around for quite a long time, but the original Acmlmboard code has been modified quite a bit, and it doesn't have many ties with communities related to Jul or the original Acmlm's Board. The community and its purpose are also quite different than the typical Acmlmboard.

It's a bit of a mess, and I wouldn't recommend looking too closely.

Boy, that colour scheme...

I remember Ice Board being an offshoot that had a fairly decent amount of activity back in the day. Also, doesn't SMWCentral incorporate Acmlmboard code in some way? If not, it's heavily inspired aesthetically.

Huh, Xeogaming. I forgot about that one. EDS actually came up a day or two ago when I was talking with BMF (thinking about old members).

The vast majority of them are long offline and/or dead. The ones that weren't have surely been hacked into oblivion now; it's trivial to get enough access through the code to delete everything or deface it.

Vizzed is an Acmlmboard spinoff but it's been very heavily modified. I wouldn't even be able to make a guess at how much is original code and how much is new; given its relative popularity it surely must be high, otherwise it would've gotten hacked by now.

Yes, that looks like 0.7, and some data from around that time (the memberilst shows ~300 posts for Acmlm). All of the posts and threads are gone, though; maybe intentional?

http://speedrun.com is done by peterac who used to be here (or just "pac" now I guess); it very heavily borrows from Acmlmboard roots, including some of the themes:

I know I'm late to the party (again), but Happy Birthday Jul!

Like others here, I was a part of the I1 Acmlmboard boom in the early 2000s. The Cliff's Notes version of my story is in my first post here, and it's fun seeing what's become of the Acmlmboard "culture" these days.

Like I've mentioned in the past, Acmlm's was my first internet forum ever, and there's still nothing quite like it anymore. As much as I miss the unified community that I1 and I2 brought with it, I'm just glad the communites and entities that made them worthwhile are still alive and kicking.

Here's to 10 more years.

Dammit I totally missed this. Shame on me and I love Jul.

But well, I'm glad I happened to join 2.5 years later and it's been a hell of a great community to be around. Thanks for letting me sneak in and never having me leave.
