Playtonic's first game was officially funded on Kickstarter about a week ago. About a week minus one day ago, it was funded fivefold. So pumped for this that I also went ahead and backed this. Went for the physical copy tier, but am definitely considering upgrading to the signed copy package. (wish that the N64 package was still available though)

For those not in the know, Playtonic is comprised of many of the best people from Rare's golden days.

I wonder if it really will measure up to what old Rare has done in the past or if it is just a thinly veiled nostalgia trip. At any rate, it at least answers the call for people who wanted another Banjo Kazooie game since Microsoft locked up that IP and threw away the key.

I backed £65 to the cause, I hope Playtonic flourishes as a company. I would love to see more purposefully set up small studios like them because that where real innovation tends to come from seeing as they can take risks large companies cannot.
