I'll be trying to find more things about this proto,as requested by futuretime23,just as i found on x5's proto(check that thread for the findings such as event modifier or black zero n'stuff) but for now,i'll start to search for things in this one in this special thread here,well,here goes nothing!
All the adresses that i will put from now on will be on Cheat Engine and ePSXe 1.9.0(just incase u guys wanna check them)

GOOD JOB MATE! no idea this area existed,i thought they only did the 1st one,not the last one.
any luck with gate's lab 1? the vram shows that something gets loaded,so the stage or something relating to it is present(and given how gate's lab 2 and 3 are here,i wouldn't be surprised if it's some bug) btw,gate's lab 2 part 2 ends when you enter the teleporter,no gate boss or X/Zero passage. i assume they could be there,but hidden. Judging from what i recall from this proto(a year ago keep in mind) the final stages,although somewhat close to completion,are the most incomplete part of the game(stage wise)

i didnt even entered the other stages yet,i just found these values,but i will be noting somethings i find,like,the
second area of sigma stage,when u enter to fight sigma,the background goes dark,theres 1 talk with sigma and x,but then nothing more happens

wait,you first fight zombie sigma,then he dies,background goes dark,another conversation occurs,then background changes,and final sigma shows up.
you are saying zombie sigma isn't present in this proto?

Yep(at least on this copy i got of this proto on a japanese site,who knows,it maybe another proto >.<)

if the sigma stage part 1 is completely empty,then it's the same proto(9-28-01) check the proto files,the last ones date to september 22,2001.

well,same proto i have. so it's official,the proto cannot be completed due to missing bosses. a cutscene modifier may reveal the characters endings(maybe even the credits) but anyways,the X6 proto is a late build of the game(final game's latest files date to october 12th,2001 for JPN,and november 8th,2001 for USA)
with some notable differences,like when you gain access to the gate stages,the Nightmare Zero fight doesn't get closed off(neither does High Max if you only beat Zero) so it seems it was still possible at this time to obtain Black Zero via the Lv.04 Nightmare Zero method(haven't checked in detail,but it seems the reason it got "canned" was due to a very dumb,obviously very rushed "bugfix")

Yeah,ive seen this black zero thing a long time ago

Yeah,ive seen this black zero thing a long time ago

so armors are close to being finished at this point? what about the shadow armor?
i'm planning to do an X6 proto playthrough,so this is stuff that will be added as bonus material. I did find quite a good amount of differences with the bosses,and while the TCRF page is quite informative,it's still lacking in places. I'll later see if i can update that page.
EDIT: i'm still hoping you can find something in regards to gate's lab 1. that's the biggest mystery of this prototype,if the stage was actually finished or not. or if it's even here.

Temp Invincibility(So you can walk on spikes and not be hit midair to death)
00AED9A1 (BYTE) Freeze at 50 or something like this to make you invincible to everything less than fall to death

if the value you change is in HEX or DECIMAL,right click on the Adress on cheat engine and look if theres an option called: Show as decimal,or Show as hexadecimal
Also:

WAIT WHAT? gate's lab 1 actually works? then it's something related to the stage select that's not functioning right.(btw sorry for double post,something got glitched up)

Yep,on the end u fight HIGH MAX but to damage him in the original u had to charge special weapons,so i was searchin for the weapons unlocker(Instead of defeating a boss ) and found it

yep,just checked,that's gate's lab 2 part 1. for some reason,gate's lab 2 has it's two parts divided into it's own stage values,it's not divided into area parts.

EDIT:Oops,forgot to remove his barrier before,lol,and yes,charged weapons are the way to kill him
Also,the first part is complete,except for the text before batling high max,but even teleports you to the second part after the battle

high max 3 can be killed as X,but Zero can't damage him at all,no need to use charged special weapons,just use charged buster shots and regular special weapons.
btw,gate's lab 1 is value 16.(decimal) game hangs though.
