Just curious if in the past you used to put stupid passwords.

My very early passwords were all the same, (2009), but this was when I didn't have any relatively serious accounts. Slightly later on (still 2009) more secure and random passwords were used, and this "method" got used until Sept. - Oct. 2013, where I put apparently random letters and numbers with symbols, which actually mean something (minus the symbols and some extra letters I add). This is how I did the password for the registration on Jul.
The password thing got its final update later on (starting with my Photobucket account) - I write absolute random jibberish on Notepad, then I copy it by hand exactly on a notebook (ouch) and I use that thing for a password.

Those passwords typically look like F*0()$MV$M°xgàùè:%MMV@[<908£VYdèo=$

Also, I don't have any online bank/Paypal account - if I had one the password would have been even worse.

Last thing, it's wierd I remember people talking about this in a thread, but it seems that thread has mysteriously disappeared and I can't even find it in my history. Spooky.

I have the awful habit of using the same password across all of my accounts. Even though it's a large password, it only takes one insecurity and whoops there goes everything. I recently started using a different password, so stuff like my PayPal won't be attacked if they find out this password. Mine always consist of numbers and letters, both upper and lower. When required, I'll shove in a special character like an asterisk.

I remember making passwords which were the name of the service with some substitutions. For example, I used “f0rum” for the 1st forum I signed up on. A password I used a lot was based on my 1st ISP...

Nowadays, I use KeePassX and generate 12-15-signed passwords for every website.

Now that I remember - looking back at old passwords, it's not true I've always generated apparently random letters from 2009 to unti Oct. 2013. The failed Sonic Retro account contains... a not that secure password. Wierd, as other passwords of the time tended to be more secure.

Probably I'll just continue to do the random keyboard smash someone finds I leave text documents on my hard drive containing those passwords. I should probably delete those leftover files.

Then again I should just use a random password generator like the one from KeyPassX. o.o

I normally don't use these generic passwords, but I have used passwordmonkey a few times, but I changed those a year or so ago.
