It's out NOW!

With much fanfare, after being delayed for more than a month, this game came out yesterday only for 2.99$.

Featuring online VS mode (perfect for people with a non-working wireless), the usual three characters from S1 iOS, and a boss mode. Also, Hidden Palace zone.

Anyway, I've just got it "now" and it left me in the same excitement as the S1 iOS port. In other words, an awesome remake.

Now S3(k) is the only one left ... the game which never got much remakes as S1/2 and most what it got was (not perfect) emulation.

What will the future give us?

Best game in the series, in my opinion... also first game I ever played ever, on my parent's Genesis... I've been waiting for this to come out for over a month now, definitely buying it right this second!~

I bought this on Google Play, it's pretty good. I haven't had the chance to test it with a gamepad unfortunately, playing Sonic is pretty damned hard on a touchscreen.

Well, at least on a iPad the controls aren't that bad (in Sonic 4 it's another story, just don't get me started how the controls are there ).

On smaller touchscreen displays, well, it got me slightly irritated (to say the least). It's one of those little limitations of a touchscreen display we should all love to hate.

Ehh, I don't have too many complaints with the controls... I hear that Trumpet Eggman is a bit difficult with it though, so once I get to Hidden Palace Zone I'll verify that for myself... I took a bit of time out of my day to get all of the chaos emeralds in EHZ act 1, I feel so pro

Also, the elemental shields return in VS mode and debug mode. There are a few objects in debug mode I'll have to verify aren't in the 16-bit version, as well.

My one complaint: Hidden Palace Zone uses Mystic Cave Zone 2-player music, and while it's a great tune, I think they should've used track 10, especially since it's still in the sound test and remastered as well x.x

Tried a game of VS, and had the other person disconnect at the third phase of the third match, when I had won every phase... I WANT THE CHIEVO ;-;

Heh, I've already went to the HPZ Boss. It's not that hard, but still not an easy task.

Good lord, I hate those spike balls!

Then again, I could play as Tails and "cheat" (too bad the flame hurts (ala Sonic 3) unlike every other boss :/ ).

Also, I find it funny how you get into HPZ.

About half an hour, I was playing Boss Rush Zone, and I discovered that during any stage after the first boss, if you restart the section from the pause menu, it's possible for the boss music to stop playing. Even after defeating the boss in that section and moving on, still no music. Sound effects play as normal though. Reaching the Egg Emperor likely will play its music still, though not 10% sure since I didn't get that far with the glitch.

As for that glitch, OKeikiDragon, it's been brought up quite a bit in the Sonic Retro bug thread and is usually fixed by restarting the app. Hasn't occured to me, and I'm on Android playing version 3.0.2 :/


Also, loving the eighth special stage

Considering I don't play any game for a long time in a single section, with me periodically killing open tasks and apps after closing them, I can see why the bug never happened to me. Uh.

After I finish my current playthrough of it, I'm gonna mess around with playing Knux + Tails, maybe with S3 shields too :3 Has anyone gotten /all/ eight emeralds, instead of just the eighth via level select? Or is that even possible due to no-save? hmm...

You can only get the eighth emerald from accessing the eighth special stage which can only be accessed from the level select, which can only be enabled from tapping S-E-G-A letters from the SEGA screen, but it works only in no-save mode.

In other words, it's imposssible without hacking.
