Although I have my own collection of chiptunes (mostly from video games), but is there any good VG Music or chiptunes you like? I need a bigger collection to fill up disk space...ehm, I mean for fun...

Jokes aside, any good chiptunes in your collection? Then, post!

For starters, there's the entire Sonic 2 soundtrack... Most of the music from GHOULS'N GHOSTS (genesis) is pretty good, Fortuna and the Staff Roll from Star Fox 1, and Area 6 as well as the Training music from SF64... Everything from Super Metroid... A few tracks from the first two Shining Force games are pretty good, namely most of the battle and town/castle musics (aka pretty much all of those soundtracks)... I don't know if this is a plausible suggestion, but you also mentioned regular VG Music, so... All of the original Ty the Tasmanian Tiger soundtrack, namely Bridge on the River Ty and Walk in the Park. If I think of any more, I'll edit or post again~

Here's 18.36GB of chiptune music. It's an archive of music from a website called 8Bit Collective, which doesn't exist anymore. To top it all off, all the songs are licensed under Creative Commons 3.0

Ubiktune is a very good netlabel for chipmusic. They have about 70 releases (most of which I still haven't listened to) and they're pretty good

I need a 4TB hard drive. Internal and external. Two externals.

I don't want to keep having to reserve the remaining space of 1.5TB I have in all.

...Oh what the hell *downloads*

I got an album from C64audio.com called "Back in Time", which contains many Rob Hubbard tracks and some Martin Galway ones too, among others. If you want to download it, feel free to send me a PM. Lossless or 320kb/s MP3 are my selections I have

my favorites are Jeroen Tel's SIDs and everything by Maktone.
I'm a purist, so I don't personally consider them 'chiptunes' but I still like OxygenStar's stuff a lot. Their album, "How to meet local hot women" is great!

(Also, I adore Maktone's beard.)

On that note, I totally forgot to link the High Voltage SID Collection, which has a few tens of thousands of C64 SID files, full of game music and massive amounts of both new and old stuff from "the scene" (best of all it's still updated with more and more new stuff about twice a year, and is about due for another update this month).

It's a bit daunting to sift through just because of the sheer number of files and artists, but it's not hard to find lists of well-liked C64 musicians (or just queue the entire collection up at once, hit "shuffle", and see what happens )

Finally!

I was just waiting for some VG music, although I didn't expect to hear about the C64 :/ . After all, this was one of the most important "platforms" for Chiptunes and etc... How could I forget about that?

Good thing these are chiptunes, so in their original format they shouldn't take much disk space (lacking due to toastytech mirror, Atlas Archive, 18GB Chiptunes, VMs, the list goes on...)

I get stuck at the first step due to Server Execution Failing.

I prefer NoLife-radio. Probably because they play less home computer and more console music.

Does it have to be video game music?

Because here is a groovy collection of 8-bit bossa nova. I believe they’re all original compositions.

Not really, but it's "heavily enforced" because this thread was made specifically for that (and everything goes into the Emulation folder).

You can still post about original compositions, if you wish to...

I was just giving the "general recommendations" on what chiptunes to link to.

I didn't say anything specific.

Big Giant Circles’s Impostor Nostalgia is one of my absolute favorite electronic albums. Not from a video game, but definitely video game–inspired.

Obviously you have Anamanaguchi. Everyone should at this point.

Sabrepulse, Xinon and 8-Bit Weapon are also really good... I have some more in my collection, but I'll have to check. The Realization split EP by Sabrepulse/Xinon though is absolutely fantastic and Vanishing Point in particular is just mind-blowingly good.
