A spooky old hack that makes use of the SMB3 disassembly to do more than what's normally possible!

* Use your new BOMB power up to take aim! Holding up or down will allow you to target higher or lower creatures!
* Three special new powers, two only found in the bonus level!
* Be the Princess, and kick butt!

So this brings the count of known hacks that use the disassembly up to two.

What can I say? I finished this short hack (a demo?), but you did a good job in balancing difficulty, which is not like... some other hacks... . There are some things I noticed though... most importantly the bomb looks as overpowered as the hammer. Hoo boy, the boss battles go down fast.

Anyway, I personally like when a hack has many small levels like this. Also, the NSMB bonus game.

Really, here is the first thing it came in mind when I saw these screenshots...

Yeah, the boss goes down fast because there was going to be more than one world originally. I've just grown tired of rom-hacking lately, so I cleaned up and released this.

Also, I'm glad you found the bomb fun! As a tip, try letting the boss shoot a few shots and try jumping when he does. I made a small change to him for that.

As for the sprites, they are from my older hack Present Panic! I wanted something not as reused as the SMB2 sprites.

Heh, there were several hints about this... by looking at the screenshots I thought it was going to be a full hack (i.e. the world map). The result didn't let me down in any way though (considering I'm not the best SMB player, that's a somewhat rare compliment by me).

Wow, I have not really played this hack but that reviewer's taste is fucking shit, let me quote!
Complete Overhauls – Hacks which feature new art, levels, music, everything in one package to create an entirely new game, included in this category is the best ROM Hack I’ve ever played, Super Mario World – The Second Reality Project (Reloaded).
While TSRP-R is one of the (if not the) SMW hacks with the highest production value; it suffers greatly in that it has some quite horrible level design and design choices in general. And while the remake fixes a few of the many flaws the original TSRP has, it's nowhere near enough of what should have been done.

I think that if you find TSRP-R to be the best hack ever then you have either not played enough hacks or your taste in good design is non-existent.

All the hacker had to do was redesign the fireball sprite and keep the same behaviors.

Last time I checked this was consider bad practice in ROM hacks and something you should NEVER do, why anyone would want a simple reskin over something custom made I have no idea.


Lastly I think he misses the point of the hack, it was clearly advertised as a small hack and I thought it was fairly obvious that the world would have levels of various tilesets if that was the case. :V

Aside from a couple of graphical glitches (and the occasional sound oddity), this hack is nice overall, but it still shows signs of being a larger project cut short.

My suggestion would be to modify the overworld a little to give it more of a board game feel. Maybe you move via dice roll, and there are spaces like "go back 2 spaces" and special events and things like that.

A question. Are there any other planned levels supposed to be in the larger hack that didn't made it in this version?

Nope, I packaged world one and that's it.
The only thing not used is my hack to give each king world end unique text.
